Deep Purple & Paul Rodgers?

It could have happened.

Apparently, before David Coverdale was recruited as the singer in 1973, the band was going to ask Paul Rodgers to join, but he started working with Bad Company, so....

In an alternate timeline, they’re watching Queen + David Coverdale?

Now, that I could see!

I watched a documentary on the Mark 3 & 4 lineups.

Holy crap!

The Mark 4 lineup was doomed from the start.

Some hair raising stuff is revealed here. They barely got out of Indonesia alive.

That is such sad news for Steve’s wife and his family, and Stage 4 cancer-well, it’s the worst and I lost my best friend to it a few months ago.

Morse saved the band in 1994 and Purpendicular, Now What?! and Whoosh! are some of the best albums the band ever made (the others with him were good too).

Simon McBride is an absolute guitar wizard though and brings much more of the classic Blackmore style and technique.

He’s brilliant with DP.

Very sad news. My wife and I met Steve and his wife while walking around the Cruise To The Edge back in 2017 and they are a lovely couple. We had a nice chat. Since then have met Steve a few times at Flying Colors shows. Prayers for him at this time. :(

Very sad news about Janine Morse. Sorry to hear it;

I thought Steve brought a renewed energy to Purple that hasn't been seen in maybe 30 years. Their albums with him were great, there wasn't the hints of the ongoing battles that mark Purple's illustrious past, and he still brought fun and enjoyment, even when playing songs that he must have been close to playing 4,000 times or so.

Best wishes to him and his family
