It's likely that no one noticed but I've been laying low, both here at IMWAN and at my blog, for nearly 6 months. I already knew my internet time would be limited throughout the summer since my wife & I were putting our house on the market and moving from New York to North Carolina, but then some family emergencies occurred and life became complicated for a while. I'm sure everyone here can relate to that. I'm finally reemerging and I explained my extended absence in my latest blog post: https://kamertunesblog.wordpress.com/20 ... dle-again/This post includes some photos of the man-cave/media room I left behind in New York. The plan is to buy a new house in 2016 and set up a new & improved music space. I will be asking my fellow IMWANers for advice on storage options and audio/video equipment as those plans take shape. Until then, I ask you to commiserate with me as I have no access to my CDs, LPs & stereo system. I have to listen to music on...*gasp*...computer speakers. <For those of you who don't know me, I've been revisiting the complete catalogs of artists in my music collection and posting my thoughts on a few albums at a time for nearly 4 years. Instead of focusing on my favorites, I've been choosing artists whose catalogs I own but haven't played as frequently as I'd like. So far I've covered Van Morrison, Talking Heads, The Band, Roxy Music, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Television, David Bowie, Nick Drake, Black Sabbath, Big Star, Tom Waits, The Beach Boys, Foo Fighters, Uncle Tupelo, PJ Harvey, Neil Young, Alice Cooper, XTC, Metallica, The Jayhawks, The Kinks, The Stooges, Al Green, Syd Barrett, k.d. lang, Hall & Oates, Toto and Supergrass (plus "Compilation Or Catalog?" posts on The Commodores, Montrose, Jimmy Buffett, Echo & The Bunnymen and The Cure, as well as discussions of my favorite One And Done, Two And Through and "Great Out Of The Gate" artists).>

From one turkey to another, howdy there Rich.
I'm struggling with my health again and took an absence from here but even though I'm not doing great, posting here helps.
I hope all is well and you're moving forward.
Now that you escaped New York, expect a warm winter!

Now that you escaped New York, expect a warm winter! As we say in my family, Happy Thanksgobbling, Pete. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope you get things under control soon and feel like yourself again. I agree that posting here helps during tough times. It's a great community. For the better part of 5 months I had very little time to stop by, let alone write anything. It's good to feel somewhat grounded again. Very true about the upcoming New York winter. As long as the weather here in NC is good I'll be very happy for everyone in NY. They've earned a mild winter after the last few.

Welcome back, Rich! Yeah I can relate to those emergencies that keep you away and offline. I also know there's relief in re-emerging, so once again, welcome back.
Storage issues? I'm facing those, too, and am re-arranging rooms this weekend (in other words: music room is full; music room annex 1 is full; music room annex 2 is being created from room whose non-important stuff is relocated to the garage). Your left-behind storage shelves in New York look way more organized than my music rooms/annexes could ever dream of being!

It's good to know other music collectors have gone through this & lived to talk about it. The shelves I left behind were custom built for that space and did a great job of storing my collection for nearly a decade. I was pretty much at capacity when we moved, so I likely would have sought out some annex space if we had stayed.
