Creedence Clearwater Revival is not reuniting.
Singer-guitarist John Fogerty will play this summer's Glastonbury festival in England, and the British magazine Uncut has speculated that he'll reunite with bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford as CCR for the show. However, both sides have exclusively told LAUNCH it's not true. Fogerty's manager said "There's nothing to the rumor," and Clifford and Cook's manager called it a "false rumor."
Fogerty's battled with his ex-mates for years, and Cook told LAUNCH that he and Clifford still don't understand why Fogerty has such bad feelings for them: ["It's sort of a mutual, unspoken, unwritten agreement that we seem to have that I guess is sort of 'live and let live' -- although frankly, we don't know why he's pissed off. Pretty near every situation that he's not liked over the past 30-plus years has been done by his own hand. It's pretty hard to blame the rhythm section when you're the singer-songwriter-producer-guitarist and manager."]

Since Creedence Clearwater Revival is my favorite band of all-time, I'll throw in my two cents.
Not only did I (obviously) enjoy their music, but through them I "discovered" such pre-rock-era artists as Leadbelly and Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
However, their time came and went. I prefer to keep one foot in the present and try to seek out any and all promising music that is either still around, or on its way up. Also, instead of hoping for yet another classic rock band reunion, I would hope that the surviving three members could (if not make their peace) at least agree to be civil, and be able to make it through interviews without going for each others' throats.

I should clarify what was said in my previous post.
When I stated that I felt that we did not need yet another classic rock band reunion, I was actually referring to the (admittedly remote) prospect of CCR actually re-constituting as an album-making entity.
However, should John Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford ever miraculously bury the hatchet and settle their differences, I would be chomping at the bit for a one-off live tour.
I have seen Fogerty live twice, and both shows were phenomenal. The only missing ingredients preventing these concerts from being perfect was the absence of Cook and Clifford (for obvious reasons that have been well documented).
As a long-time CCR fanatic, I learned to hope for the best (hey, the Police managed to put aside their differences and launch a world tour) but brace for the worst. In fact, a Paul McCartney-Yoko Ono wedding is more likely to take place than a final CCR live tour.
That's the end of my rant.
Thanks to Rick A for the original post.

C.C.R. and John Fogerty are some of my favorite music also.
I'm not sure there really is "bad" feelings between these guys,
I think John Fogerty has just moved on from C.C.R. as a group.
There is a book "Up Around the Bend" I thinks its called, and
after reading (this book seemed pretty fair) it you sort of see how
record companies and bad deals and being naive really messed
up the personal relationship these guys had. Stu, Doug and Tom
were (are) all good musicians, especially for the type of stuff they
do, but John Fogerty is on a totally different level and on top of
that he is a perfectionist, and sometimes people like him just like
to "go it alone". We probably will not see a reunion - but everyone
has a future and something to offer. We already have lots of great
music to listen to, and that is for sure!

IMHO Fogerty IS CCR. He does not need them.

We've seen Fogerty a bunch of times since he starting touring again, and he always puts on a great show.

Great interview with Mr. Fogerty on Howard Stern this week. I've always heard he was a jerk, but from the interview, he didn't seem like such a bad guy to me.

I believe the guy has been victimized from bad choices (contractually) as I young musician and taken advantage of it for decades. The others at time sided against him for their own benefit. To me, it's very simple. Without JC their would have never been one of the best American bands ever, period. Rick A.

John was on the CNBC "Squawk Box" show the other morning, of all places. A regular on the show, Senior Economics Reporter Steve Liesman, is a big RnR fan, and I'm sure he got John the gig. The live interview with the regulars went fairly well from what I recall, overall positive, John talking about his book release and several stories from his past...
