Just found this (there are more dates to be announced). Heep are an absolute machine live-one of the best shows I've ever seen and I was fortunate to see them in 2002. I tell you-they are just amazing as a live unit.
If the dates don't change (or no Philly or AC date is added) I may have to trek up to NY to see them-any of you NY IMWANers interested? And, where is BB King's club?
Here's the dates so far:

British hard rock legends URIAH HEEP have confirmed their first North American live dates since 2002. The band will be promoting both the Wake The Sleeper and the Celebration releases (marking the band's 40th anniversary).

According to an update, "The band very much looks forward to meeting it's USA fans again! Stay tuned for additional gigs and dates!"

First confirmed dates include:

June
18 - Chattanooga, TN - Riverbend Festival - Bud Light Stage
22 - New York, NY - B.B. King Blues Club
24 - St. Charles, MO - Ameristar Casino St. Charles
25 - Kansas City, MO - Ameristar Casino & Hotel Kansas City

July
2 - Algona, IA - Freedom Park

Sad news, and I hope Trevor gets well-one of THE best bassists ever to play the instrument.

From ClassicRockMagazine:

Trevor Bolder has told Classic Rock that the reason for his recent surgery wasn’t a heart attack, as online rumours suggested – it was cancer.

But the Uriah Heep bassist is looking forward to life without the killer disease, and he’s revealed plans for a Spiders From Mars reunion later this year.

Heep last month announced that Bolder would be temporarily replaced by JJ Jowitt of IQ, Arena and Frost* fame, adding: “We all wish Trevor a speedy return to the fold.”

That led to speculation he’d suffered a heart attack.

But Bolder tells Classic Rock: “No. It wasn’t – it was cancer. I had a big operation in early January that will take me months to get over.

“I had pancreas cancer so I had to have that removed. Not the entire pancreas – but still, it was bad news. They’ve cut out the bad bit. I’ve had a bit of chemo, got to have that, which I’m doing now, in case there’s anything hanging about. Once that’s done, I should be back to doing what I do for a living.”

Bolder admits he was “shell-shocked” when doctors told him the news, but adds: “I’m over that. I’m up and down.”

He describes convalescence as “boring,” explaining: “I need to get my concentration back, to be honest, because I get tired real quick at the moment. Luckily I’ve got my studio at home so I can start messing around and get my efforts back. I want to do that, and write a few songs.

“In a couple of months I should be back to normal and doing roadwork with Uriah Heep. Originally, I was told it would be nine months. I’ve gone private now and they say it should be four months – as long as I take it steady.”

Bolder has also told Classic Rock that plans are afoot for the Spiders From Mars to play a reunion gig around Christmas, featuring him, drummer Woody Woodmansey and an as-yet unnamed vocalists.

If Bowie & Earl Slick (closest we've got left to Ronson) were to join in, I would be in 7th heaven!

Not gonna happen in any way. This sounds like Bolder, Woodmansey and whoever-not even the real Spiders. The Spiders album was horrid anyway.

I agree the Spiders album was awful, but this reunion wasn't bad at all:

John Lawton will be reuniting with Uriah Heep in 2013 as singer.

He’ll stand in for Bernie Shaw, who’s taking time off for a routine medical procedure, for concerts in the Netherlands, Gemrnay, Austria, Italy and Switzerland during May.

It’s the first time Lawton will have hit the road with Heep since 1995. He bowed out of full-time duties in 1979 after a three-year stint. He’d already been booked to make a one-off guest appearance with Mick Box’s outfit in Spain in July.

The band say: “As the shows will be recorded for official bootlegs, it promises to be a real treat for the fans. The sets will be skewed to songs reflecting John’s original tenure with the band – a celebration of classic 1970s Uriah Heep. this will be a unique chance to catch such a nostalgic performance.”

Lawton appeared on three studio albums with Heep: Firefly and Innocent Victim in 1977 and Fallen Angel in 1978. He’d previously been with Lucifer’s Friend and returned to that band in the 1980s. He’s released a number of records as a solo artist and leader of the John Lawton Band, and his most recent work was last year’s The Power Of Mind with Diana Express.

Heep bassist Trevor Bolder was sidelined earlier this year through illness, which he later revealed to Classic Rock was cancer. He’s determined to return in time for the band’s appearance at this year’s Download festival.

Uriah Heep have announced that two of their classic-era members will appear onstage for a one-off show in Russia.

Keyboardist and guitarist Ken Hensley and drummer Lee Kerslake will appear with the band at the Moscow Circus on October 15 and play a two-hour set.

Hensley was with the group from 1969 until 1980 and co-wrote much of Heep's early material, while Kerslake has had two stints with the band, playing with them between 1971 and 1979 and again between 1981 and 2007.

The pair will hit the stage with guitarist Mick Box, singer Bernie Shaw, keyboardist Phil Lanzon, bassist Davey Rimmer and percussionist Russell Gilbrook.

Uriah Heep issued the DVD Live At Koko in February and launched their 24th album Outsider in 2014. It was their first release after the death of bassist Trevor Bolder, who died from cancer in 2013.

Shame the vocalist passed away, or I'd want to see this.

I never saw Heep; I did see the original vocalist's solo project after he left Heep; it was awful.

This looks to be great. I have the "Magician's Birthday" when Hensley reunited with the current band. One of my favorite Live DVD's.

Heep has been on a roll now for over a decade and with the very sad loss of Trevor Bolder (he will be there in spirit) I be on board for this issue as well.

This band is still kick'in and kicking it strong.

Geff:

Bernie Shaw IS the vocalist.

He's dynamite and he's been there for a mere 29 years.

David Byron was awesome but he left in 1976 and died in 1985.

The band has survived I'd say.

I really prefer the 70's Byron material. Thanks for reminding me of his name. Other than checking out a couple of the recent live albums at your suggestion; I loved them from the 1st album through Live 73 (+ the Stealin' Single, but I did not like the rest of that album) & that was about it for me.

He may have been there for nearly 30 years, but the real question is....is it still Journey?

+1  Nobody loved David Byron more than I but after losing him selecting Bernie Shaw was the most terrific choice.

I love the post Byron Heep and had really high level expectations and Box's Heep replacements were better than anyone could have expected.

Exactly Rick.

There's virtually no Heep fans out there who don't love this band still just because of who is no longer there.

It's not the 70's anymore.

My favorite era is the Pete Goalby stuff from the 80's which brought the band back to popularity in the US for a short time.

This current lineup though which has been around longer than the original lineup is simply magnificent and it never enters my thoughts that this is anything but Uriah Heep.

The fact that they are still beloved in almost every country in the world (no exaggeration-look at where they play) is proof.

I want to Thank You Pete for bringing up the discussion of Uriah Heep.

Played some great albums this evening.

That is my favorite involvement on this board, talking about what music we love and share.
