The same Electrical circuit in my home that went out in 2012 with the eventual consequence of bankruptcy went out again today around noon. I SHOULD know the cost tomorrow (& no it's isn't a tripped fuse....... I wish.)

If it's more then a few hundred, I'm just going to have to live with no light on the main floor (other than a couple lamps) & no microwave. I can workaround everything else that's dead with extension cords as long as there isn't a fire hazard involved. Fortunately when it went bad in 2012 part of the fix was rewiring much of the floor around this circuit that's once again causing problems. Ironically, the cause that was finally determined in 2012 ( a bloody bad doorbell transformer which cost me a couple grand & the bankruptcy court another $10k) is no longer on the troublesome circuit.

I have a suspicion it's a bad wiring job on the dedicated Microwave outlet, but I don't have the skill level to know.

As foreclosure is fairly imminent, $500 is my absolute top end for any repairs. If it's higher than that, I'm out $150 for the diagnosis & again no lights on the main floor & no microwave.

Sometimes I really think this world sucks! :ohno:

Sorry Geff. I had something similar happen, only it was literally half of my house; the front half, had no power, while the back half was fine. Not quite as expensive as yours was, but it was over $1500 for a new breaker box and new breakers. Very fortunately, I have a friend who is an electrician, and I know something about it myself, so it saved me a TON by just doing it ourselves!

I made some bad choices last time. A Craig's list crook caused more problems then he fixed, or it likely wouldn't have been more than $2k last time. It was the middle of December & 1/3 of my home was 100% out, including my furnace.

It also does help that you can fix it yourself. I'm great with (older) software, but I may be the biggest klutz on the planet with anything mechanical.

Second biggest! I can put together a computer, but home repairs ... forget about it.

It might not be until you're done with that house, but things will definitely get better.

(only $179). The problem was apparently caused by bad wiring by the large co that was part of the 2012 fiasco that through me into bankruptcy.

Based on my history with the wiring in this pos house, $179 was dirt cheap :sigh:

I'm still hoping to sell the ebay business. I'm on disability + 2 part time jobs (ebay & running a bulk email list for a large non profit).

The "hourly rate" of return on the ebay biz is not worth my time; as it is ebay is doubling there listing fees in cd & dvd in May & I plan to remove around 2/3 of my titles.

ebay is getting ridiculous. I don't use it often to sell, but when I do it seems so unfriendly to be a small seller. You have a very real chance of losing your product and never getting paid, and having no recourse. Their policy on guitar sales is particularly egregious. Someone buying a guitar has 180 days (180!) to decide they don't like it after all, and send it back, and then ebay will take your money back. What you get back might not even be the damn guitar, or it's been beat to death and now worthless. And again, you have no recourse. I'm not sure if the CD and DVD sales market is quite that draconian, but I'm sure it's very difficult.

It's shrunken badly, both due to downloading & corporate price cutting (Super D). Also, from my perspective, a lot of physical disc buyers have died of old age. I have lost a ton of former great (& frequent) customers who passed away.

I'm not sure I'd buy a guitar on eBay (I think I've only ever bid on one, but that's a long story), and after reading this, I sure wouldn't sell one.

Have you looked at Reverb? I know some folks who have used it, but I haven't looked into it yet. Not that I'd sell guitars there, but pedals, yes.

I actually had 1 really good experience selling a guitar on ebay in around 2000; but that was a LONG time ago!

Do they have Sunday markets in Tacoma?

It's another option to sell off your stuff

I sold a metal body resonator on ebay earlier this year, for slightly more than the price I paid for it one year before. I only recently learned about the 180 day thing or I would have never done it. Seems like I lucked out though, as the guy messaged me saying how much he loved the guitar and gave positive feedback. I think (not entirely sure) that once they leave the feedback they don't get to turn around on you later, but at any rate this deal went well.

I will look at Reverb in the future though instead. I have one guitar to sell right now. Thanks!
