Bannings: If you're not nice
Not sure if a Triumph thread will fly here, but let's find out. (I know that Pete is a fan.)

Have you guys seen this?

About The Jack and Triumph Show:
Originating from Robert Smigel (TV Funhouse), The Jack and Triumph Show centers on the renewed relationship between former child stars of a 'Lassie' like television show. Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) overcomes the pitfalls of child stardom to achieve a healthy adult life. Jack's newfound peace is threatened by Triumph (Late Night With Conan O'Brien), his former canine co-star, who is now an insult comedian and troublemaker. The Jack and Triumph Show hilariously blends sitcom conventions with the kind of on-the-street interviews that made Triumph a sensation. Can Jack and Triumph make the transition from sitcom life to real life? AdultSwim.com is the online destination for The Jack and Triumph Show video, including full episodes and clips. Yes. I've watched both episodes. I love Triumph. The show is kind of a mixed bag - some of the scripted stuff is kind of forced and doesn't work as well, but the unscripted interaction is pretty consistently funny. McBrayer is very funny on the show, although they do push him a little out of his usual innocent schtick. I loved the stuff at the comic book show on the first episode.

I am such a Triumph fan-saw him live (and also saw Triumph the band in the 80's) and I have 3 DVDs of Triumph appearances on Conan through the years.

This show is what Alan said-a mixed bag, much like the Triumph Comic Dog album.

The best Triumph, hands down, was an early Conan where Shannen Doherty was the guest. She came in and said she couldn't stop laughing at Triumph in the green room.

I have a best-of Triumph DVD. The Star Wars Premiere is a classic. And I loved when they sent him to Hawaii for American Idol.

And I saw Triumph the band when they toured with Leslie West.

When Mountain opened for them in 1985?

I saw them in 1986 when Yngwie Malmsteen opened.

And seeing Rik Emmett acoustic a few months ago (at his invite) was mind-blowing.

For me to poop on of course.

Couldn't remember if they were billed as Mountain or not, but I believe they were. I know Corky Laing was there because we commented how much he reminded us of Keith Moon with the goofing around on stage. He spent almost as much time bouncing drum sticks off the drums trying to hit Leslie as he did playing. He finally hit Leslie in the back, whereupon Leslie picked up the stick and fired it back at him.

Great show from both bands that night.

The Star Wars premiere is my favorite Triumph bit of all time.

After talking about it, I'm going to have to pull the DVD out...

I remember seeing Triumph for the first time on some cable variety show with Penn Jillette. (Don't think Teller was with him, but I may be wrong.) I remember that after doing his bit, Penn stepped up and put his hand in front of Triumph's fake puppet mouth and said that the one thing that a talking dog simply could not do was introduce Lou Reed. Nice touch, and I don't know if that last bit was scripted or not.
