Ian McLagan in critical condition at Austin hospital

There's Facebook posts going around (which I'm not on, so can't access) that he had a stroke and is currently on life support.

Send your thoughts out...................

:sigh:

Ian McLagan: 1945-2014

Ian McLagan, best known as the keyboardist for legendary English rock bands Small Faces and Faces, has reportedly passed away at the age of 69.

According to Paste writer Tim Basham, who was present in McLagan’s hospital room with approximately 15 to 20 other visitors, the musician—who also has collaborated with The Rolling Stones and led his own band for decades—died after suffering a stroke.

I saw him play last year and he was delightful. Should have caught him when he played LA a few months ago. Man, what a bummer.

So very sad. Ian was one heck of group keyboard player. Had a cool resurgence in the New Wave period with a couple cool solo albums which I cherish. Glad he was able to see the box set of the year come to fruition. We will miss him but Thank You Dear brother for proving great music for decades. Your music will always be playing in my house.

RIP Ian.

Well done mate...

I've grown to love all the Faces versions so much over the years.

This is a very sad loss.

"A favorite memory keeps coming back: it's just us in the car, going to gigs," he told the Los Angeles Beat in 2012. "We used to smoke, listen to music, laugh and giggle, and had the best time! We'd get to the gig and we'd play music, then we'd leave the gig and we'd listen to music. Then we'd go back to the hotel and we'd play music, then we'd listen to music. It's all we did, and it was fabulous! You can't have a better life."

We will miss you.

Wish Rod had not frittered away the chance for a reunion tour.

At least Rod can sleep nights now and not think up lame excuses to not participate in a Faces reunion.
