LED is better picture, that's what you want (you just don't know it yet).

i don't know about that, LED is artificially bright.

A PRS acoustic guitar would fit the bill.

These days one can get quite a hi def TV for $500 as long as you can live with out 3d & the top end "smart features". I've seen 60" "top brands" that low.

I have yet to see an LCD LED set that tops my Pioneer Kuro Plasma.

I'm definitely on the plasma side too.

Better buy a plasma quick, it's going the way of the dodo bird. I still have my Sony SXRD after all these years and won't upgrade till it dies.
Not sure what I'd get next but the Sammy LEDs do look sweet, a bit bright yes but you can have it calibrated.
Btw.....my SXRD was calibrated back when it was new by one of the best Kevin Miller of ISF and a contributor to Perfect Vision magazine. We had a grand time tweaking the TV and watching a Yankee/ Red Sox game.

I'm really happy with my LG. I thought the picture was at least as good as plasma, and that plasma was going away, in favor of the newer tech. Hence my comment, which is apparently uninformed.

......I'd go to Europe for 2 weeks of Patti Smith concerts and lots of sightseeing during the day.

(I've been to England, but not mainland Europe yet.)

They're certainly pushing LED here much more than Plasma (last year it was the opposite) & prices have gone WAy down on LED. Re quality: I have little clue.

Curved TVs are now the in thing. 3D TV just never really caught on though it is effective in the right setup.
I think my next TV will be at least 65".

Is it true that LED monitors don't have any problems with burn-in? Mine is nearly four years old and the image is still good. My previous monitor, which was plasma, ended up with little dark areas where the menus were constantly displayed.

LEDs shouldn't burn in. They are also very efficient. Plasma's are not efficient and can suffer burn in.

My understanding (I've never owned one) is that early Plasma's had bad burn in but that it's now completely solved in the quality brands.

I know last year the folks on DVD Talk almost always recommended Plasma based on value; but again full LED has come way down in price.

Since plasma's are being phased out, they are not cheap anymore (if you can even get one).
