It's an old (pre-Robert Johnson) blues standard.

I got thr idea from the recent Friday List............this was one of my answers and then rememberd that alot of people recorded it. Nobody had a hit with it, and alot of you might not know the song as well (unless you love blues and/or 60s music), but alot of people played it.

Vote favorite version........not favorite artist.

Other. Love the Rory Gallagher/Bela Fleck cover. Then I suppose R.L Burnside would be 2nd.

I voted for Hindu Love Gods, but only because I wanted WZ to get some love.

Thank Jeff. I still have a suspicion (I also suspect my memory is shot!) the various versions sound significantly different, & I THINK one of the better known versions is by Savoy Brown)?

Based on my very weak memory, I'm choosing Hot Tuna.

Very rarely is an original version of a song beaten by a remake. Son House wrote this song, and owns this song. :ohyes:
