For me it's Cat Stevens. I've had a digipak comp, the latest, for several years, and I used to own Tea and Teaser on vinyl, but didn't play them much. Now I've added "Catch Bull at Four" on CD and I'm loving it, so I'm going catalog with this artist, at least the albums released under the name of Cat Stevens. :)

I've enjoyed his music years now for a number of years.

You should get "Mona Bona Jakon" next, the fantastic song Lady D'Arbanville is on there. That song really sets my imagination going but in completely the wrong direction.I somehow imagine the song's about one of those French (or Norman) arisotcrats tombs you see in churches, with the carved stone figure of the lady at rest on top. It's not of course, just my interpretation.

He's given an interview in the June copy of Mojo.I was interested to read that the origin of the song "Lillywhite" on the same album comes from an experience of a bad acid trip.He dropped some acid at the home of Noel Redding, had an awful night tripping, and awoke the following morning to find a covering of snow outside.

For me, it's Shelby Lynne. For years, I only had "I Am...' and "Love, Shelby." Then the Dusty Springfield project, "Just a Little Lovin', and the tour behind it pushed me over the edge. I have all her albums now and am working on an odds & ends collection.

Joe Jackson. I first got into him about 5 years ago.

My two latest have been Wilco and Chuck Prophet. I picked up all their albums last summer, and I'm still loving them. The upcoming Wilco record is the first new release I've really looked forward to in a long time.

I recently caught up on Elton John's "classic" period, getting everything up through Blue Moves. Not sure how far I want to go beyond that, as I have mixed feelings about his later work, though I'll admit there's a lot I haven't heard. I have the more recent Songs from the West Coast and Peachtree Road albums, which I like but wish they had more rockers.

I'm still slowly getting the Rolling Stones' 60s albums, none of which I had previously owned (sorry Jimbo!) Recently found a very nice used copy of Singles Collection: The London Years and I'm loving it.

There are lots of other artists I'd like to fully explore if I had the money and time but for now they'll have to wait.

Although this isn’t an artist catalog, my big discover has been Motown. Sure, I knew all the singles. But since I was alerted to a great price for Volume 8 & 9 on this site, I have since picked up all volumes and can’t get enough of all these gems I never heard before in my life.

I guess John Denver and the Pointer Sisters are my most recent full-catalog purchases, though they've been on my wish list for quite a while.

About a week ago I listened to an Ozric Tentacles compilation and really enjoyed it, so I'm thinking about adding them to my list.

Frank Zappa (I know, I'm a late bloomer!!!). I've recently purchased:

Absolutely Free
Freak Out
Chunga's Revenge
Yellow Shark
Zoots Allures
Filmore
We're Only In It for The Money
Weasels Cut My Flesh
Uncle Meat
Burnt Weaney Sandwich

Already had Hot Rats, Overnight Sensation, and Apostrophe (because that's what BMG had). And for years I've had the Shut Up And Play Your Guitar discs. But this is my first serious foray into deeper catalog.

I saw CPR live in a small venue and got to meet Crosby afterwards and got an autograph. Great music moment for me! :-D

You should try Roxy & Elsewhere and One Size Fits All next.

....and if you liked Fillmore East, you may enjoy Just Another Band From L.A.
(I love the Flo & Eddie period)

Shocking Blue

I only knew Venus (as most people do). A few months ago, I looked for more songs on YouTube and pleasantly surprised at how good their other material was. I now have their Singles A & B sides compilation, their 1st two (Mariska) albums, and the DVD of their promo films. I'm slowly ordering the other albums.

Mariska Veres is great to look at too.

catalog - not complete catalog, but definately starting picking up a good swatch of it: the Kinks.
Porcupine Tree.

I'm dipping my toe into Hawkwind - and I can see myself getting deeper and deeper.

The most recent example I can think of is Of Montreal. All because of that Outback Steakhouse commercial.
