when Rhino reissued this as a 4 CD box in 2005, the 4th disc consisted of 8 previously unreleased songs, might be the same thing...

Yes, they appear to be the same tracks.

Speaking of Chicago on Spotify, I can't believe how cluttered they are with different versions of the 1969 live tracks that apparently every dodgy label in the world has issued. One has to scroll down pretty far just to get to their legitimate albums.

Renny, those same tracks are on the remastered Carnegie Hall set. They weren't on the original LP or CD versions.

I saw them on the Rhino site about a year ago and purchased the downloads, only to discover it was material I already had.

Another note about these tracks: I thought they were as good or better than many of the performances that were originally released. In particular, "Listen" and "Introduction" are great and that "25 Or 6 To 4" is vastly superior to the version on Disc 3 (which was plodding and muddled, in my opinion).

+1.

I bought the Rhino edition in '06 despite already owning the original CD version and was absolutely blown away by the extra disc. Almost every song on it was superior to the versions on the original album.
