Not that I really use it for anything anymore other than to copy LP's to cd's, but this sucks as it was sold in an attempt to pay bills.

I'm reminded of when I did a bankruptcy in 1995 & the ONLY thing the judge scolded me for was doing exactly what I just did; he said he would have let me keep everything if I had just given up. Unfortunately banko isn't quite that easy under the "new" laws & I still have this fantasy of keeping my house.

I did copy several LP's before the guy came over, & I had forgotten how good even a 1/2 decent turntable can sound.

I am not happy.

Also very f'd is that neither the state nor the local police will do a gd thing to help me get back the $640 I was ripped off by an illegal contractor on Craig's list when I had the electrical issues in December. The police even refused to take a report.

:sigh: :ohno:

Even here you would have to take that case to the DA's office. The local police don't get involved in bad contactor problems (essentially civil matters). Or to the local small claims court where you could get a ruling in your favor. Will the guy pay you back? Unknown.

Hope things turn around for you Geff! :ohyes:

Really sorry to hear about this, Geff. I know that about fifteen years ago, I had to sell off most of my CD's to pay the rent, although I can't say that I'm not grateful for having gone through all of that, in that it has been onward and upward ever since. I may currently be an unemployed student, but it's all about the baby steps. Each day is an opportunity. And I bought back most of my collection--the stuff I've never replaced is mostly stuff that I apparently have outgrown.

Glad you got them back!

I think I posted awhile back that the b@$t@rd from Craig's list who ripped me off mostly took Alice Cooper. The one that's going to be expensive is the AF School's Out.

I'm mostly upset about the turntable because it feels like real people like us are & have to be responsable for debt; & than I get ripped off by a succession of people who seem to be able to avoid consequences.

I also sold a mega buck Turntable in the 90's under similar circumstances & you're right, if the current economy finds a place for a 55 y.o. person with music business & general management experience (right now, I'm not seeing jobs that fit unless I want minimum wage or to work for an insurance company; I don't know why insurance co's have been so hot for me; it would be an awful fit!) it will all eventually work out.

I'm selling off alot of my cd's also through my business.
