That depends - does he like Kiss?

Great intro on "That Metal Show" this week (the Satriani episode). The voiceover said "That Metal Show was recorded like 'Kiss Alive!' All the good stuff was added later in post." OT - the Satriani interview was very good.

Sounds like this takes all the fun out of it for Chris

This shows prejudice towards fat, sweaty guys. I am outraged...and I need to cool off.

Anybody got a towel?

I like the fact that they've changed the order of the set list and are now opening with "Modern Day Delilah."

"Deuce" and "Detroit Rock city" are great openers, but they've been done to death.

Plus, I like the new twist on how they come down onto the stage when the show starts.

He'll probably win the pie-eating contest. Gene likes pie.

Paul Stanley: New KISS Album Within 18 Months

STV.tv
John Kilbride

Kiss star Paul Stanley says that a new album by the band may be possible in 18 months time.

The band released Sonic Boom, their first album in over a decade, in 2009.

STV's John Kilbride spoke to Kiss legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley just minutes before the band took to the stage for a sold-out show at Glasgow's SECC arena.

Asked if he thought another album was possible , he said: "I think so.

"We had said before we didn't really see doing an album, but I think at this point, doing so well, so famously, we had such a great time doing it, that when we have some time, which is not in the near future - if I had to make a prediction I'd say 18 months - there will be another Kiss album."

The band were playing in Scotland as part of their Sonic Boom over Europe tour

Paul also spoke of his memories of playing at the Apollo, the legendary Scottish music venue that closed down in 1985. Kiss played twice, in 1983 and in 1984. For their final gig they were supported by a promising young band called Bon Jovi.

Paul said:said: "The Apollo theatre here was incredible, in the sense that the stage was so high that I can remember looking closer at the balcony than at the audience below us, and thinking that it was an awfully big drop if I slipped in these eight inch platform boots, so I made sure I stayed on my feet!"

If the new one can be at least as good as the last one, I'm fine with it.

The band's coming back to the US this summer...

It's time for round two. Legendary rockers Kiss are coming back to America in support of their newest album, 'Sonic Boom.' The Hottest Show on Earth Tour will stop in both amphitheaters and arenas. In typical Kiss fashion, the band is promising a huge stage show -- and rare songs not usually performed live. Tickets for many shows go on sale June 4 via Live Nation.

Instead of selecting an established band as support, Kiss has teamed up with Guitar Center to discover a talented, unsigned act. The Guitar Center On-Stage competition will allow unsigned rock bands to compete for a chance to open for Kiss at 22 different tour stops. The winning band will also receive a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree. Unsigned bands can begin registering June 1.

Fans will also be giving back just by attending a Kiss concert this summer. The members of Kiss will donate a dollar from every ticket sold to the Wounded Warriors Project. This charity benefits the United States Armed Forces.

Tour Dates
7/23 -- Cheyenne, WY -- Cheyenne Frontier Days
7/24 -- Minot, ND -- North Dakota State Fair
7/29 -- Pittsburgh, PA -- First Niagara Pavilion
7/30 -- Cincinnati, OH -- Riverbend Music Center

8/29 -- Raleigh, NC -- Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek

I'll be there again on Aug. 6-it was one helluva show last year! Very, very great cause to donate to-it would be even better if TicketDisaster gave all the "convenience fees" to the cause-I'd have no problem paying that.

I never thought they'd do it without Peter Criss, but here's KISS from Hamburg, Germany, performing "Beth." And it's the whole band performing, not just Eric Singer to a tape.

They've got Thayer in Ace's makeup doing Ace's signature song, so this shouldn't surprise anyone. And it follows their logic about the characters and such, but still, no shame there anymore.

I hope Peter Criss still gets his royalties for this.

I had the notion to ask how Gene would feel if Ace or Peter did "God Of Thunder" or "I Love It Loud" in concert, but I suspect he'd just say, "Make the check out to G-E-N-E S-I-M-M-O-N-S."

The sad thing Alan is that you're joking, but that's probably what Gene-O would say... :sigh:
