Last night, KISS played in New England. It dawned on me that the last time I saw KISS live was 10 years ago at this venue, formerly known as Great Woods.
Oh, I know - I'm on my way to wearing it out, or at least the MP3s from it. I picked it up from CD Baby, along w/their live release, some time ago. I almost picked up the later albums as well, but I didn't listen to them nearly as much.

KISS rocked again! Total fun and 2 hours 15 minutes of amazing showmanship. Liked most of the set list changes (certainly could've done without Say Yeah, God Gave Rock And Roll To You II and a few others), and some really cool new twists including perhaps the highest drum riser I've ever seen and Gene doing a Quasimodo during his solo with tolling bells! Hilarious! The different solo segments were amazing as Tommy and Eric jammed for a while then it was Tommy's solo followed by Eric's solo then another jam. Tommy was on fire all night-I have never, ever heard him play this well and his solo and the jam really allowed you to hear Tommy in his own right. Man, was he on! And yes, we snuck in some cold gin in a flask and drank it during the song-always wanted to do that. Now I've lived. What a damn good time and they continue to amaze. The best $10 I think I've ever spent!
Here's the real set list, as previous ones were bogus.
1.Modern Day Delilah 2.Cold Gin 3.Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll 4.Firehouse 5.Say Yeah 6.Deuce 7.Crazy Crazy Nights 8.Calling Dr. Love 9.Shock Me guitar/drum jam guitar solo drum solo guitar/drum jam reprise 10.I'm An Animal 11.100,000 Years bass solo 12.I Love It Loud 13.Love Gun 14.Whole Lotta Love/ Black Diamond 15.Detroit Rock City Encore: 16.Beth 17.Lick It Up 18.Shout It Out Loud 19.I Was Made For Lovin' You 20.God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II 21.Rock And Roll All Nite

I have been a KISS fan since 1974 and have seen them many times . I was debating on whether to go see them at Jones Beach this Saturday and I decided not to , I don't think I could stand to see someone else in Ace and Peters make up especially if they do Shock Me or any other songs that they sang . Then my 10 year old daughter heard they were playing and now I'm taking her to her first real concert . She went to a Demi Lavato concert a while back but I tell her that don't count .
You really can't beat a current KISS concert. The guys really do sound great and I've accepted Eric and Tommy as KISS members at this point. Your daughter will have a blast at the show!

Just saw this on the KISSOnline site..... I'll definitely have to hear their version of the song.
Fans don't go to Kiss shows to hear an agenda. They don't go to find out who they should vote for in the next election or to hear the band's opinion on an oil spill.
"We don't talk about acid rain or who's going to save the whales or what political party you should vote for - we don't care about that. Most people yawn when they start to hear that," bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons told the Weekender from Los Angeles where the band was recording "Venus and Mars" for an upcoming Paul McCartney tribute album.
"Next time I want to find out about acid rain and the rainforest, I hope it's not from a rock star. In the same way, I don't want to find out from a scientist what other song I should put in the set, so I think rock stars should shut up, get up on stage and do what they're designed to do - otherwise, you're not qualified to tie my shoelaces."

Who cares? We went late to avoid the crap-there was a local band from that contest who went on at 6:30 when they were probably 2 people there. Then some other awful band and then an Emo joke The Academy Is. Thank God that of all that, all we saw was their last 2 songs including a lame cover of "Fox On The Run". Just go see KISS and don't endure all that crap. KISS took the stage around 8:50 pm at our show. Let us know what you think of the show-it was damn fun and damn good.
