I know who is going to win this one in a landslide, but listen at least to the original Bobby Womack/Valentinos version (it's on Youtube if you don't know it)......The Stones obviously loved it.

There is a great version of "It's All Over Now" coupled with "Gasoline Alley" recorded by Amy Correia. Really emotional vocals, great rootsy band, nice guitar leads.

The Stones sticks out for me as i was a little boy when it came out. Barely remember the Dead's version, & not sure if I've heard the others (though I would think i would have heard Stewart's & Winter's)

I like the Stone's version, but I voted for the Valentinos because I like it just a little bit better.

The Stones, if nothing else than for that part where Jagger slurs the words "high class" ... or is it "half-assed" ?

Amy's medley appears on the CD The I-10 Chronicles 2: One More for the Road, one of my all-time favorite compilations :yay:

The disc also features great covers by Grant Lee Philips, Steve Forbert, The Devil and Bunny Show, The Blind Boys of Alabama (covering the Stones' cut "Just Wanna See His Face"), and many others too numerous to list.

ROAD TRIP !!! :D

P.S. - The best version of "It's All Over Now" that I have ever heard was by an obscure local band named Stubby Dill, in the early 80's. Imagine the Stones' version filtered through a Pretenders/Clash mash-up, and you might get some idea ...

That album also has Adam Duritz and Dave Immergluck of Counting Crows on an exuberant cover of "Crossing Muddy Waters" that I love. Plus Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen and more.

Renny,

That's Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" not Bobby and Shirley Womack's R&B staple "It's All Over Now".

It's All Over Now Baby Blue may be a future one of these polls.

I'll cast my early vote for Sid 'n' Suzie (Matthew Sweet & Susannah Hoffs).

Don't forget to list Falco and Bonnie Raitt as options.
