As I posted elsewhere, I recently re-purchased the Reprise cd's of the 3 original Hendrix albums from 3 different 3rd party sellers.

Axis & EH arrived fine. AYE never shipped. I emailed Amazon last night & they told me to give it 4 more days.

Today they cancelled the order, removed it from my order history, & here's the weird part: COMPLETELY REMOVED all pre MCA versions of AYE from the site. As Amazon sellers are (were??) much cheaper than ebay sellers on Reprise AYE CD's, I hope Amazon restores the item (there were about 20 different Amazon sellers offering it when I ordered mine), before the price goes crazy.

I wonder if Amazon have been asked to remove them from sale. Those CDs were produced under a different administration and perhaps they (Experience Hendrix) don't want these visible to the public.

I have the original UK Polydor CDs of all Jimi Hendrix catalog including War Heroes, Crash Landing and Loose Ends, In The West etc. Mostly they sound terrible apart from 'In The West' which is far superior to the 2011 version.

I put in a bid on a Reprise on ebay. Will know tomorrow if i got it.

I have all of the original reprise issues and any other issue after that and the SHM's destroy any other version I've heard so far, although I'd love to have them in blu-spec.

Maybe they'll do SHM SACD's. I know Warner did one with the Doors debut, though those puppies are EXPENSIVE!

Maybe they could do that with new copies due to contractual provisions, but certainly they don't have the authority to demand the removal of second-hand (used) copies... right?

One would think not. Similar happened recently with some possibly pirated Roan dvd's, but they were reinstated & now Amazon is selling them directly!

The Reprise Axis & El Pages are also still up, though hard to find. it appears that they only took down aye.

It gets even stranger. I still can't get the Warner AYE cd to show up in Amazon's search, but the link I posted in another thread is still good!

I thought of this, because more & more when I search Amazon, ONLY the currently in print editions are coming up.

Entering jimi hendrix are you experienced brings up that out of print CD as the first result for me.

Look closer, your screen shot shows "1997". That's the MCA. Mine is the 1990 Warner.
