....I'm not feelin' too good myself :dazed:

As usual, probably missing some, but got the big ones.

Tip of the hat to Glenn S for the suggestion. If anyone has any other ideas for this, let me know.

Paul Weller's version, with Badfinger's heavier take on it a close second.

Joe Cocker MD&E Live. Never heard Rare Earth do it. Probably should have offered a Dave Mason solo option also, though I still would have picked JC.

I like most every version I've heard of this, but my favorite is by Three Dog Night. Good singing, good playing by the band, but what really sells this one for me is the punchy horn arrangement featuring the guys from Chicago.

(p.s., thanks Charles for using my idea. These polls are fun.)

This was the toughest one for me as I didn't realize there were so many versions...and I didn't hear alot of them. I try using the Wikipedia writeups as framework.....and it didn't even mention Badfinger or Dave Mason solo.

Thanks again Glenn.
Anyone have more ideas for songs....let me know.

I agree the TDN version is great.

Live versions, is probably why. I don't know if Mason ever re-recorded it in the studio, but Badfinger's is on their live BBC concert disc. (They must have loved Dave Mason, there's also a cover of "Only You Know And I Know" on the same CD.)

Grand Funk RR is the first version I ever heard and thus dearest to my R&R heart (being a military brat, you can easily miss out on new music, depending on what country you're living in at the time...)

Is that because he didn't list the Rolling Stones??
