Nice obit in the NY Times for him, most remember him for Bertha Butt but he had some nice fusion skills, exemplified by "It's Just Begun." Ground-breaking artist in his own right as far as I am concerned.
I loved "Bertha Butt Boogie", but couldn't own a copy - every 45 I bought skipped. I went through about 6 or 7 copies before I finally gave up. Never did get to dig into his other stuff.

I picked up the It's Just Begun / Phase Two two-fer a few years back, just to replace a worn out copy of the "Troglodyte" single. Really fun & funky stuff, as is E-Man Groovin', my favorite Castor album.. RIP JC
Since I have to own a best-of by everybody, I have this comp from Rhino, which includes all 4 of Castor's Hot 100 singles. I definitely remember "Troglodyte" and "Bertha Butt Boogie" on WABC.
