If I think the jokes are genuinely funny, then the laugh track disappears into the background and doesn't usually intrude or interfere with my enjoyment of the show. If I think the jokes the honestly not funny, then the laugh track is the least of the show's problems and I've no reason to blame the laugh track for the show's failure to interest me.

As for Two Broke Girls, I like the show and I've seen some marvelous comedy bits there. I'd even call the show, on the whole, above average.

i can't believe it is still on the air.

fart humor at best.

i find no humor in it at all.

oh well, to each their own

We must define "fart humor" differently. I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, though. But I'm not surprised it's still on the air, unlike some other shows that are, and I'm often more mystified when some others die so quickly. So I'd say my taste are different from the norm, more often than not. I certainly like it better than Mike & Molly in that same line up.

Mike & Molly this year is very hit and miss. They really changed the show to take advantage of Melissa McCarthy's success in movies, which is understandable, but they lost the heart of the show, IMO. It's become very slapstick as opposed to being somewhat smarter humor before. They've gotten away from using the peripheral characters as much, which I think hurts the show. Vince, Peggy and Carl's grandmother are great characters being underused.

One look at this seasons Top 13 on American Idol and it's the same old thing over and over and over. The show is done. It's just embaressing now.

But I did love last nights opening episodes of Survivor. Plenty of blindsides and intrigue. Plus some pretty girls.

I love the new storylines Mike and Molly have come up with this season. Seeing Molly quitting her job and trying to find herself has been just as sweet and funny and interesting as ever. This weeks episode in particular was quite touching when she was reminiscing about her dad and got comforted by Mike in the end. Sure I wish Carl was in it a tad more this season, but since he still has at least one scene an episode and is still hilarious whenever he shows up I can forgive the show for that. Basically I don't see the show slipping in quality at all and am still loving it.

Also I've loved 2 Broke Girls from the very first episode, crude jokes and all, and while this season does seem to be a bit racier I'm still laughing quite a bit while watching it, so can't really complain about it either.

And shockingly enough after some lackluster previous times out last night's episode of Survivor was actually pretty darn good I thought, so I'm hoping for the best this season.

True Detective-I am so sad you are gone, but thank you for being one of the best things I have ever witnessed on television.

I really liked the Cosmos reboot on Fox this past Sunday. Even the animated bit, which could've come across as cheesy, was very effective. While the original series was groundbreaking back in 1980, now you can see this material covered, every day, on any number of cable channels. I'll be watching for the remaining 12 weeks, nonetheless.

I really liked the Cosmos reboot as well. My wife wasn't a fan of the animation, but I thought it was effective, and I'm not the target audience.

Neil Degrasse Tyson is on tonight's Colbert Report, and he's drilling it out of the park - great appearance.

My favorite moment? The special guest appearance by Ghost.

Watched the pilot of the new Cosmos and it's a bit underwhelming overall. Not a big fan of the host and the first half hour was a bit much with the traveling orb.
Basically the series comes down to that we are a very very tiny part of a very very large universe. A universe that is larger than any of us can comprehend.
Essentially that's what it all comes down to......how large is this frickin' universe anyway. Infinite? Even Cosmos will have no idea,

Also watched Resurrection. The French series The Returned is 10x better but I'll give this ABC/Disney version a shot. In the French version the kid is very very creepy, in this version he's a cute little guy.

a couple things bothered me though:

the kid NEVER changed his clothes, even in a hospital bed.

omar epps did, and he was only supposed to be out of the office for 2 hours.

They're gonna have to put a dome over that city of Arcadia.

Props to The Blacklist which is an example of a show that has gotten better with age. At first it seemed like it would just be a master criminal of the week show but the plot has developed and is very interesting. James Spader of course is always a pleasure. One of the great TV actors.

The Following is still as stupid as ever but it's still entertaining. The only thing I don't find entertaining though is all the stabbings every week. Has there ever been a show with more stabbing and cruelty going on?

Agreed, The Blacklist is a great show - a must see for me.

As for The Following, I don't think it's stupid so much as improbable. It's certainly not nearly as good or entertaining as The Balcklist. And yet it inspires a sort of wonder how such people could even exist, and in such numbers, organize in secret, and get away with it for so long. Is murder on that scale unheard of? Take a look a history and you'll see it isn't. So I enjoy the show since it makes me think about broken minds like that, and how they might come about. True, I do have to ignore the frequency and degree of these people's infiltration into law enforcement, etc. but it's for entertainment's sake. It's watchable.

well, I think it was pretty sad, really. Even . . . disappointing.

Very disappointed with Resurrection which is a pale imitation of the superior French TV series The Returned.
