And Comic Book Men returns!!!

Finished up Spoils Of Babylon this week - very silly stuff, totally ridiculous, but I laughed a ton during it. It's the type of humor that's not to everyone's taste, but so be it. The next-to-last episode had a slap fight between Kristin Wiig and Jessica Alba that had me howling. Totally ridiculous, but it got me.

Btw.....The X Factor (after 3 miserable years) finally bit the dust, so Simon Cowell's magic failed big time. Nothing could save this train wreck, not stunt casting (Britney Spears!) or flashy editing and production. The only good thing to come from it was Demi Lovato who turned out to be pretty savy.

The Following......where the bad guys are all ninjas and highly trained assassins but the FBI is always clueless. Kevin Bacon's character is always a day late and a dollar short, every episode.

The amazing thing about that cult is they have followers EVERYWHERE, including strategically placed in the FBI and probably countless other law-enforcement agencies. Apparently total psychopaths are a dime a dozen and they all share this weird idea of Joe Carroll's and can go completely undetected, passing every psych evaluation necessary to get those jobs. I find that hard to believe. But IF they existed in those numbers, and IF they had an obsessive belief in Joe and his vision, and IF they could get those positions, and IF they could pass undetected, it's not unreasonable Joe and his followers could stay one step ahead of them. But that's a pretty long string of big IF's.

Still? I only saw the episode after the Super Bowl and haven't seen any since. That was my major complaint about the first season.

I could see the plot working for a little while but now 2 seasons in and the FBI are like complete clowns, the show insults ones intelligence over and over but it is a guilty pleasure. The only thing is it always leaves me feeling dirty since it's so crazy and violent.
A typical FOX show like Prison Break where the plot is made for one season but then they stretch it out as long as they can,

That show is pretty crazy! I haven't tried going to far into the website yet, but hopefully I'll get a chance to browse soon.

I mentioned a few pages back. It's very good, but tends to get too artsy and weird and grim.

But it is compelling with excellent acting.

I gave up on it last year. It was too dark and implausible for me.

Ratings have really slipped and it may get cancelled but that's not official yet.

Walking Dead wasn't all too good, but I did like the ending and what Carl did that last half hour.

I wasn't clear what the hell Michone's flashback was and what happened at that dinner. But she certainly kept that sword!

Anyway, it wasn't a great episode.

I've been loving this season of The Taste so far, and I've pretty much been agreeing on the people they've kicked out each week. I personally can't wait to see the finale in 4 days and really hope one of the two guys left ends up winning, because in my opinion the women this entire season have made nasty looking dishes, unlike the men who always make food I wish I could eat myself.

True Detective last night-amazing, even if I'm confused (and I'm supposed to be).

Feels like Twin Peaks anymore, but this show is absolutely captivating. And yeah, it's still pretty damn grim.

And there's another show I need to catch up with.
I have Game Of Thrones Third Season shipping from Amazon today (another great show).

Another amazing epsiode last night (and the nudity was too).

Best show on any TV.

Walking Dead might have had the worst and stupidest episode ever last night. I am starting to lose interest.

Yeah, I hadn't realized it wasn't the standard 12 episodes like most HBO shows, and when the preview mentioned that there were only 2 episodes left I kind of went "aw shit….."

'2 broke girls' is on the TV, i am in the other room,ot watching, but i can hear it.

is there anything on the planet earth more annoying, more grating, more disgusting, and more demeaning toward human intelligence than a canned laugh track.

i will NEVER watch a show with a laugh track, ever.

Laugh tracks only seem to bother me when the canned laughter accompanies dialogue or images that are CLEARLY not funny, IMO. If I think the jokes are genuinely funny, then the laugh track disappears into the background and doesn't usually intrude or interfere with my enjoyment of the show. If I think the jokes the honestly not funny, then the laugh track is the least of the show's problems and I've no reason to blame the laugh track for the show's failure to interest me.

As for Two Broke Girls, I like the show and I've seen some marvelous comedy bits there. I'd even call the show, on the whole, above average.
