Props to one of my new favorite TV shows, Brooklyn 99 that won 2 Golden Globes (unbelievably). The show is brand new and still finding its way but it has an awesome cast and maybe it will get better over time. But the Golden Globe people are very impressed with Andy Samberg it would seem.

Really? I watch it, but so far it can't hold a candle to Barney Miller.

Etymology: Probably from the custom of apprentices to a trade holding a candle so the master worker could see clearly. If a person was not even good enough for such a simple task, then they were worthless.

Yep, nothing is as good as Barney Miller but Brooklyn 99 is well constructed, they just need to get better and they may now that it has been renewed and won awards.
Its built around Samberg so it's really up to if you like him or not. And he can be annoying.

Yeah, that was one of its flaws - not Samberg, so much, as it seemed built primarily around just one person. Barney Miller, despite its name, had the action and humor spread more evenly throughout its cast - though my personal favorite was Dietrich.

If anyone watches "Sleepy Hollow", tonight's episode was directed by my buddy Romeo Tirone. I did enjoy the first few eps of that show, but I haven't seen it in quite a while. I'll watch tonight, though.

That's funny because when my friend first posted on Facebook about directing an episode (a few months ago), many of the comments were "Can you give that guy some goddamned new clothes" etc. I think I saw about 4 episodes as well. On behalf of Romeo, thanks for watching!

The Blacklist is back too, I DVRd the episode last night. Not too impressed with CBS's latest series Intelligence. One of those been there done that shows but I do like the lead Josh Holloway who starred on LOST (one of TVs greatest series.....miss that damn show).

With my former career in the military, I have a hard time watching these shows that purport to be about the Intel field. I end up rolling my eyes so much during the shows I just can't watch them. Burn Notice was bad enough and that Will Smith movie was ridiculous.

That's how I feel with the majority of cop shows. A cops day is 99% boredom, followed by 1% of sheer terror ( if your easily frightened I guess). ;)
On TV it's constant chases and banter with bad guys. I rarely get to meet real bad guys. I spend most of my day taking silly auto accident reports or taking people to the hospital because they don't feel well.

Not to grab a shameless plug (but why not?), in my novel "Sons of the Pope" I poke fun at a lot of these tired cliches: The hard-boiled coroner eating his lunch while performing an autopsy, drivers automatically blurting out "We've got company" when realizing they are being followed, anyone exclaiming "See you in Hell" just before doing anything violent, lots more...

So your daily life isn't just like an episode of Mike & Molly???? :sigh:

We watched tonights premier episode of American Idol and boy has the show become a bore. I avoided last season like a plague but tried this new version with J-Lo being back. But not much happened for 2 hours and no talent really was found. The show has been on a dive ever since the original judges left and it will continue to lose viewers.

Harry Connick and Keith Urban put me to sleep. It was horrible. We only watch it for the bad/funny auditions and there were none of those until 40 minutes in. Really bad (we gave up after 50 minutes).

What's worse any bad/ funny wasn't even funny. I only enjoyed cheerleader girl. At least they let her through.

True Detective is something else.

Both leads are outstanding and this show gives me the creeps and a sense of dread with each minute.

The imagery of the last scene from Sunday's episode gave me the creeps!

That image was in the promo, and I thought that it had something to do with a cult. Even with the revelation of why that guy was dressed like that... still creepy as hell.

ABC has a new program coming on March 9 called Resurrection which is based on a French TV serial that I've talked about called The Returned. The dead have come back to life years after a tragic accident. How do they fit in today?

The French series was one of the best things I've seen on TV in quite awhile so I will give this ABC production a shot.
