Count me in as one of the few people who actually watched all three hours and 45 minutes of the thing but saw barely anything worth mentioning the entire night. The tributes to John Prine, Kenny Rogers and Little Richard were well done and musically better than anyone else who performed that night short of BTS performing their catchy hit single Dynamite that is, but sadly everybody else who performed like doja cat, lil baby, Megan thee stallion, haim, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift I'm sorry but just plain sucked. It was cool to see Ringo handing out the reward for record of the year but how freaking Billie Eilish won is beyond me. Anyway the only deserving wins in my opinion were of course not televised. Vince Gill's wonderful song when my Amy prays won best country solo performance and there was Jesus by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton won best contemporary Christian song, and oddly enough the producer of Miley's midnight sky won best producer though the song itself Miley's best in years didn't even get a single nomination. Anyway the other winners among the various categories didn't seem like that big a deal to me but obviously I haven't been the Grammys target audience in years it seems. I still watch them every year and every year there's at least a performance or two that knocks my socks off, but gone are the days where I get fully excited watching them. The last worthy album of the year winner to me was Arcade Fire the suburbs ten years ago now, and that's just plain sad.
I have friends complaining about how bad the show was. I can only reply, "Why did you even tune in?" I was watching T. Rex at Wembley while the Grammys were on.
If you're a Ren & Stimpy fan,you might want to avoid watching Happy Happy Joy Joy,the documentary of the show,if you want to remain a fan.It interviews the show's mercurial creator John K. as well as his collaborators on the show, some of whom still seem shellshocked by the experience. It makes for an ugly story, and it raises the notion that whatever was good about the show came about despite the influence of John K. The man is portrayed as an emotionally stunted man-child with daddy issues who became an abusive tyrant very quickly. If that wasn't bad enough, there's his taking up with underage girls which has already consigned him, along with Bill Cosby and Woody Allen,to the tainted legacy bin.

Although originally making a name for herself on the big screen in Play Misty For Me, to me Jessica Walter is all about her more recent roles on television. I cannot imagine anyone else playing Lucille Bluth (Arrested Development) and Malory Archer (Archer). But until today, I didn't realize she also voiced a character on another show I love, Fran Sinclair on Dinosaurs.
R.I.P. Jessica Walter. Apparently she died in her sleep. Which, for Lucile Bluth, would be preferred to being in a hospital
“I’ll be in the hospital bar” “Uh, you know there isn’t a hospital bar mother” “Well, this is why people hate hospitals”

If I had a million thumbs I'd twiddle, twiddle. But I just have two.
We started watching The Irregulars on Netflix - stories about a gang of kids that used to help out Sherlock Holmes. Or so I thought.
This is heavy in supernatural occurrences, and Sherlock (while he's apparently a broken man or a drug adit on a binger or something that we catch glimpses of in the background) really hasn't shown his face. Instead, a black man, Dr. John Watson, is the connection to 221B, and he's not a particularly nice guy.
It's certainly not what I expected based on my experiences with the Sherlock Holmes character.
I can watch it, but it's not that good, IMO. Not so far.
Offenses include some guy saying he was wearing a solider's vest (some working bullet proof vest) and use of the term "clone" like they know what that is. Maybe they did have plant clones in 1903, but this should be before even then. They also know about the tooth fairy and it's probably too soon for that general belief, too. I don't think a lot of research went into this series.
Not Recommended. I may change my mind when I watch all 8 episodes of season 1, and if so, I'll tell you, but for now, don't be sucked into thinking it's true to the source material.
We started watching Yellowstone. The Kevin Costner cowboy soap opera. It’s beautiful, set in Montana, well acted, and intense for a western soap. I recorded all three seasons while the Paramount channel had a Costner marathon.

Everyone’s favorite crazy show returns tonight on ABC, Big Sky! It’s three months since psycho Ronald’s escape, what will Cassie and Jenny do now? Does hilarity ensue?

I’ve been enjoying the new Disney+ series The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Another winner in the Marvel Universe. I see that the new Capt America is Wyatt Russell, son of Kurt Russell and was great in the AMC series Lodge 49.

As a creature of habit I watched the Oscars last night even though I hadn't seen a single film that was nominated, but shockingly it wasn't the trainwreck I was expecting. To be sure it was the most barebones telecast I had ever seen and large chunks of it was boring as heck, but some of the winners speeches weren't half bad and it was nice to see Halle Berry looking even more stunning than normal, and the whole Tyler Perry part was quite interesting, and at the very least it got me interested in finally renting those last two Pixar movies from the library, so all in all it wasn't perfect, far from it in fact, but it was still watchable somewhat and world's better than the pathetic grammys were this year.
We buffered it and fast-forwarded through most of it. Glad to see "Sound Of Metal" win for best sound - well-earned. Also glad to see Jon Batiste win (w/Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) for "Soul".
A little surprised to see that Best Picture was not the final award of the night, Best Actor was. Anthony Hopkins' absence made the end a tad anticlimactic.
And whose bright idea was it to give Usain Bolt a bunch of coffee and energy drinks before he did the In Memoriam section?

I didn't know it was on, either, though auto record for prime time allowed me to zip through all of it to the In Memoriam. I enjoy those.
However, this year there were no outstanding moments in clips - just a list of 95 that zipped by so fast there was hardly time to feel anything.
I'm not sure how many were covid-19 victims, but since 95 is a much higher count than normal, I have to assume some. As usual I didn't know most of the names since many are behind the scenes workers who make the more up front and visible actors possible.
I was surprised by one name. I hadn't heard Conchata Ferrell had died. Heart Attack - not covid-19 related, but still.
