Just trying to spread the word on this request from Thin Lizzy/Universal. Would be very cool if folks with some of the missing ultra-rare stuff would be able to contribute to this box set!!

Urgent Request for Thin Lizzy fans / Thin Lizzy Competition

Universal Music have been trying to find all the sessions and concerts Thin Lizzy recorded for the BBC. They’ve spent the last few months trawling through all the archives they can find and have found some astonishing material! But they’ve also got a list of what’s still missing and here’s where you guys come in!

If anyone has a copy of any of these sessions and would like to contribute them to the pot please get in touch. The plan is to combine everything together to release all the BBC recordings as one luscious box set. Anyone who sends over anything that gets used will get a free copy of the box and a credit on the artwork! Email us by Weds 20th July at infoumc@umusic.com

That's a good question. I 'm guessing that it was quite common back in those days. For example, I remember Be Bop Deluxe doing a bunch of that kind of stuff. I think it was a way for bands to get exposure, kind of like MTV back when it used to have music on it.
