Great fickin' concert! If you get a chance to see them, go. They are fantastic together.

It was great Renny. They sat next to each other on the stage and alternated tunes. John Hiatt would play and then Lyle Lovett would try to play a song with a similar theme. They were making it up as they went, and would comment on the others' songs or make jokes. Every now and then, JH would start accompanying LL and several songs solod on LL songs.

They're playing tomorrow (Saturday) night in Northampton, Massachusetts. I'd love to go, and, from your description, Smiff, it sounds like it'll be a great show, but, sadly for me, it's sold out! :sigh:

One of my favorite concert experiences was seeing Lyle Lovett and his Large Band at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst back in 1992. I had just moved to the east coast from L.A., didn't know anyone out here, and decided to forget my loneliness and homesickness by going to show. A friend raved about him to me, so I was curious. I became a convert that night.
