The closest I came to Black Friday shopping this year was grabbing one of the Amazon deals (thanks Linda!) Even if I'd been planning to hit any brick and mortar stores (and I never seriously was) I would have ended up staying home thanks to the nastiest head cold I've had in many a year. For those who did brave the weather and the crowds, I was wondering what kind of deals you found and if you had any good war stories to report.

No lines at the computer to get to the Apple store! The closest I came to any madness was a quick stop at Dairy Queen and another at a barbecue place on the way to my in-laws for dinner. I spent the morning putting new pickups in a guitar and the afternoon watching hockey and the evening watching "The Messenger". Not worth fighting the idiots out on a day like this (not everyone, but they know who they a...no, they probably don't know who they are).

One of the local record stores had a BOGO sale on all used item from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. I found 15 CDs, including West German pressings of the Star Wars soundtrack and The Moody Blues' "In Search Of The Lost Chord".
Figuring it had died down by then, I stopped by Target at 7:30 looking for a couple of DVDs. The line wrapped 3/4 of the way through the store! I was able to find both items on Target.com with a small shipping fee.

I didn't go in the early morning but didn't find I needed to "fight" for anything. It was crowded but I felt comfortable going into a place, seeing what they had, and then leaving.
