There was an interesting review of a Porcupine Tree show in the Philadelphia Inquirer today. It got me thinking I'd like to give them a try. I'm a SWM, not typically prog-friendly but I'm open-minded, have a high tolerance for dissonance and darkness and interested in seeing if PT and I are compatable.

Recommendations?

Might as well start with their newest CD The Incident which is in stores now. Its a nice mix of what their famous for (slightly prog rock metal with a melodic twist). You get 2 CDs for the price of one.

Thanks for the recommendation. I set out this evening to find it but the Barnes and Noble only had Fear of a Blank Planet and I had to get to rehearsal so I couldn't drive around to Best Buy. I decided to give FoaBP a shot. I'll probably still pick up The Incident too.

Here's a site with a couple of new Steve Wilson compositions. Some nice atmospheric stuff. :)
