Morrissey has named his 13 favourite records of all-time to mark today's unlucky date of Friday 13th.

The former Smiths frontman has chosen albums for Thequietus.com by the likes of Jeff Buckley, The Velvet Underground, Patti Smith and the Ramones.

Iggy And The Stooges' 'Raw Power', Roxy Music's 'For Your Pleasure' and The Smoking Popes' 'Born To Quit' were also among his choices with Morrissey saying of the latter: "Did you ever hear 'Born To Quit'? It's by The Smoking Popes. I thought that album was extraordinary, the most loveable thing I'd heard in years."

Morrissey's favourite 13 albums of all time are:

Jobriath - 'Jobriath'
Jeff Buckley - 'Grace'
The Smoking Popes - 'Born To Quit'
Damien Dempsey - 'Seize The Day'
Roxy Music - 'For Your Pleasure'
The Velvet Underground - 'The Velvet Underground & Nico'
The Velvet Underground - 'White Light/White Heat'
Sparks - 'Kimono My House'
Iggy & The Stooges - 'Raw Power'
Nico - 'Chelsea Girl'
Patti Smith - 'Horses'
Ramones - 'Ramones'
New York Dolls - 'New York Dolls'

 ICErs

(I think this is the first ever thread I've started here. I hope this special crossover event doesn't fiddle with the WAN time continuum too much. Thanks.)

He's nothing if not consistent. Those artists/albums are on the pre-show mix for every single concert he's done for the past 15 years I think.

A bunch of these artists appear on Under the Infuence, a CD of songs hand-picked by Morrissey.

That's mostly a terrific comp.

Jobriath was sort of Morrissey before Morrissey was Morrissey.

Hey, it didn't stop us ICErs from invading the "upstairs" forums, so turnabout is fair play.

I await Robbie's first poo-related musical thread with...well, I don't know if I'd say "relish," but...

Morrissey has revealed his 13 favourite singles of all time – with New York Dolls' 1973 single 'Jet Boy' coming top of the pile.

Last month the former Smiths singer revealed his 13 favourite albums, and has now posted his 'supreme 13 singles' on his official Facebook page, Facebook.com/morrissey.

The frontman is a long-time admirer of New York Dolls. As a youngster he had a book about the band published and also used to head up the UK branch of their fan club.

Morrissey's 13 favourite singles, in descending order, are:

Mr Bloe – 'Groovin With Mr Bloe'
Roxy Music – 'Do The Strand'
The Supremes – 'I'm Livin' In Shame'
Paul Jones – 'I've Been A Bad, Bad Boy'
The Crystals – 'All Grown Up'
Shocking Blue – 'Mighty Joe'
Al Martino – 'Granada'
Buffy Sainte-Marie – 'Soldier Blue'
The Tams – 'Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy'
Bob & Marcia – 'Young, Gifted and Black'
The Sundown Playboys – 'Saturday Nite Special'
Sparks – 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both of Us'
New York Dolls – 'Jet Boy'
