From WENN:
Alice Cooper has an idea for a great horror movie - about what happens with rock peer Keith Richards' used blood.
The Detroit, Michigan rock icon says he's amazed the likes of Richards and Iggy Pop are still alive after years spent abusing their bodies, and suggests filmmakers should work on a concept about how they preserve their bodies.
Cooper, real name Vince Furnier, says, "Iggy shouldn't be alive at all... He's like an old baseball glove... and Keith Richards should have been dead years ago. Nobody can live through that."
"Of course, he gets new blood every year; he has a 15-year-old Swedish girl's blood in him right now."
"But there's a great horror movie there somewhere because where does his old blood go...? They have to drain it and dump it somewhere. I love that idea."

<<he's amazed the likes of Richards and Iggy Pop are still alive after years spent abusing their bodies>>
Sure he’s one to talk. He should also be about pickled from the alcohol*.
He’s even chronicled some of his misadventures on ‘From the Inside’. Co-written with Elton’s lyricist, Bernie Taupin. There’s even a Marvel comic about it.
*I understand that’s he’s cleaned up and given up drinking for golf. His wife says that she would prefer the drinking. Apparently golf is a harsh mistress.

Alice Cooper deserves some kind of acting award for his reaction to the singing bug.

http://www.nme.com/news/nme-awards/36202 Alice Cooper declares NME Awards USA his kind of party
Apr 24, 2008
Alice Cooper has heralded the arrival of the first NME Awards USA in Los Angeles (April 23).
The rocker, who was a guest presenter, declared he was blown away by the rock n roll party, which was a stark contrast to some US award ceremonies.
"It's great, I love the idea that it's so loose," he declared. "You go to so many of these things and it's… [yawns]. Something is happened here!"

That Alice Cooper isn't in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame diminishes the legitimacy of the entire place IMO.

Alice Cooper on Loving Lady Gaga and His Broadway “Nightmare”http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/i ... nightmare/Secret girl-pop fan alert: Alice Cooper is down with Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Pink and Katy Perry. “I think sometimes rock bands forget to have fun,” he said at a pre-launch party in New York Thursday night for free music site Guvera. “They get so involved in everything else, and I think all the girls are stealing the show at this point! We need more guys to get back into the show biz part of it, you know? The guys are just going, ‘Uhh.’ ” It’s not just the costumes and the theatricality that Cooper enjoys — although he asserts that “rock should be more vaudevillian.” “If Gaga were just a costume queen, it would be different,” he said. “But she can definitely sing. She sat down and played with Elton John [at the Grammys], and he doesn’t do that with just anybody, you know?” Above all, Cooper says he admires these female stars’ spirit. Ke$ha — who told Rolling Stone that meeting the rock icon was a highlight for her — “looked like she was having fun out there,” Cooper said, “so I told her, ‘Great, just keep doing that.’ “ If Ke$ha wants more Cooper, she’s in luck. Not only is he bringing his Theatre of Death tour stateside (after stints in Europe and Australia), starting with Harris, Michigan, on July 9th and 10th, but he’s also in talks to develop a Broadway show. One of the ideas is to redo the concept from the 1975 album and tour for Welcome to My Nightmare.
“Do it in a set show, do it all out rock,” he said, “so you’re in a concert. You can do so much more if you’re not traveling. You can set things up, put people in the audience that are in the show, so the guy sitting next to you might fly up in the air. I love the idea of an insane asylum, of being in an insane asylum, where you walk in, they lock the doors, and then they stand there, so you’re in. The claustrophobia thing is good.”If a straight recreation doesn’t pan out, there’s also the back story behind the original Alice Cooper Band, which he said resembled the story of the Four Seasons as told in Jersey Boys. “We’re actually talking about a lot of these things right now,” Cooper said, “but it’s always the back story that drives the thing: ‘He and his wife were married for 34 years.’ We probably have the strongest marriage in the whole [music] business. And it’s very romantic, and that would give it heart. You have this total monster up there, who’s totally in love with the girl, a monster with a heart of gold. I would like to do that show.” Another show he’d like to see on Broadway? “Twenty years from now, there’s going to be a show called Gaga,” he predicted. “It would be a total costume ball.”

The classic Alice Cooper band (those alive) will be reuniting for a mini-tour. YEAH! This lends creedence to the fact that they were working on the new Alice record as well.
From antimusic.com:
Alice Cooper says his original band have always been victims of the “misconception” they were more concerned with theatre than music – when the reverse was true. And their upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a good enough reason to reunite and play a series of major city shows.
The band known as Alice Cooper formed at school and released a stack of world-class tracks – including I’m Eighteen, School’s Out and the acclaimed 1973 album Billion Dollar Babies – before splitting up, leaving frontman Cooper to continue with the same name.
Now the shock rocker tells Rolling Stone: “When I heard we’d made it into the Hall of Fame I called the original band guys immediately and said, “Remember when we started in high school? Here we are. It only took 45 years.”
Cooper believes the band didn’t get the recognition they deserved in their heyday: “People didn’t take us seriously, musically. But we had two number one albums, 14 top 40 hits and 15 gold albums. I think there was a misconception – but we were much more concerned with the music than the theatrics”
The Alice Cooper band are aiming to play some reunion shows early next year alongside their appearance at the Hall of Fame induction in March.
Their frontman says: “We broke up in 1976, and I understand why we became exhausted. It was never a bitter break-up – it was, ‘I have different ideas, you have different ideas, but let’s still be friends’.
“We’ve done a couple of things together in recent years, but we’ve been looking for an excuse to do more. Why not do four or five major cities? Detroit because that’s where we broke out of, and LA, New York, London and Toronto – the cities where we got our major push.”
Cooper’s only regret is that original guitarist Glen Buxton, who died in 1997, won’t be there to take the credit for his 1970s work: “Glen was our Keith Richards – he lived that life until it killed him, which was too bad.
“But I’m so happy the Hall of Fame nomination was for the original band.”

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/alice-co ... view-2011/Alice Cooper Combines Energy, Tricks and Experience At Amazing Ohio Concert by: Matthew Wilkening
Alice Cooper brought the skills of a veteran and the energy of a rookie to his sold-out show at the Akron Civic Theatre last night (Aug. 9), fronting a supercharged three-guitar lineup that tore through the fast-paced 90 minute set of big hits and unearthed rarities like it was raw meat. Sometimes, with his spooky imaging and theatrical art-rock albums, it’s possible to forget that Alice came from a Detroit garage-rock upbringing, but the precisely-loose, thousand-bee buzz that he and his young band locked into from set opener ‘The Black Widow’ on made it clear we weren’t at some ornate Broadway show.
The song selection naturally focused on Alice’s parade of classic hits – ‘I’m 18,’ ‘Under My Wheels,’ a scorching ‘Billion Dollar Babies.’ But Cooper found time to dig out a few choice and perhaps under-appreciated gems from his back catalog, including a ‘roided up take on 2000′s ‘Brutal Planet’ and the forehead-slappingly brilliant, Gary Newman-esque new wave squeal of ‘Clones’ from 1980′s ‘Flush the Fashion.’
Cooper also offered a taste of his upcoming ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare‘ album with the fantastic, immediately memorable and Stones-influenced ‘I’ll Bite Your Face Off,’ which he comically introduced with a jacket marked “New Song” in big letters.
Alice’s always impressive showman’s flair was in fine form throughout. It seemed he was never without some form of prop, be it a cane, spider’s arms, spark-shooting hands or a lovely female doll to comfort him during the show’s one quiet song, the beautiful melancholy of ‘Only Women Bleed.’
One quibble – we noticed that a camera-happy chap with the label “Press Reporter” on his coat was the subject of much abuse, and ultimately murder, at Alice’s hands in the show this evening – what’s that about? No matter, of course Cooper got served cold justice in the form of a guillotine at the end of the night, re-emerging, neck intact, for a big sing-along of ‘School’s Out’ that featured the chorus from Pink Floyd‘s like-minded ‘Another Brick in the Wall.’
The concert was also the end of a fantastic four-show, eight-day workweek here at UCR’s homebase. Ask anybody, this is one reporter capable of being a huge cynic, but after excellent shows by Foreigner, Ted Nugent, Bob Dylan and now Alice, I’m just about out of concert-related superlatives. Suffice it to say that live classic rock and roll is alive and well in America this summer!

Speaking of Alice Cooper and great horror movies, Alice will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Dark Shadows movie that Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are working on. They are filming in England as we speak, release date targeted for May 2012 at a theater near you! http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/ ... k_shadows/

Since Coop is already there, they could knock it off in a couple of days, no sweat. Burton obviously doesn't care anymore about being an artist, and why should he? He gets paid big bucks to just remake old stuff and doesn't have to challenge himself any more.
