Southern New England here - currently snowing heavy - just announced blizzard conditions - wish it was mid June at Yankees Stadium double header vs the Sox.

I meant 10 inches deep. But I can see your point. Of course, linear measurement isn't a good way to measure food. Nor is square measurement. It's gotta be volume, then. How many cubic inches of food do you eat each day?
If it is cold enough the powdery stuff is easy to move. I usually make sure not to drive on it, and clear it off every 4 inches or so. I don’t like to wait for the storm to end and try and move double digit snowfalls.
Cold enough to turn into a popsicle here. Over a foot of snow - except were the plow doubled that at the end of the driveway (not so light and fluffy) single digits outside with a wind chill below zero. Where are all the kids who used to look to make extra money shoveling? At least it's the end of January - days are getting longer and we have spring training camps opening in a couple of weeks...oh wait that isn't happening. Well date on the calendar I am looking forward to is March 18th when the 50th Anniversary of the Fillmore is unleased. Until then...I am hoping for little snow and any that does come - the aforementioned light fluffy kind - especially deposited at the end of the driveway.
Shoveling early yesterday - the gods laughed at me and blew it all back. Ever wonder if God is a Red Sox fan?
Stay warm folks!

Went below 32º here on the east coast of central Florida. Everyone in the neighborhood has their outdoor plants wrapped in sheets to try and avert the frost; sorta looks like Halloween. Will be like this for a few more days until it gets to the more usual mid 50s.

We waited till it stopped at approximately 4PM and then attacked. A three prong approach, a snow blower tackled the big stuff, shovels manned by the entire family took care of the walks and the doggie run and brooms cleaned the cars (all 4 of them).
Thank God for that snow blower, makes life much easier. I had my son clear the sidewalks down the block helping neighbors and then later I took the blower across the street to help a neighbor and their driveway apron (always the hard part). They told me they have a wake to attend today and needed to get the cars ready. Glad to help.
And yes it is cold on Long Island this morning 12 degrees. My heat is cranking. I hear it’s even cold down in Florida. Jacksonville is 35 degrees.

Yeah, even dry, light, and fluffy snow melts a bit when the city plows it and stuffs it into my driveway, where it's twice as deep, and it freezes stiff.
It's damned hard to clear the driveway opening when they do that.
