I've never heard Clapton talk about another guitarist with the respect (and a bit of bewilderment) that he has when he talks about Beck.

jeff beck's instrumental version of "a day in the life" at the R&R HoF concert was brilliant.

I saw him play that one live in Hyde Park in London earlier this decade, absolutely brilliant.

I'm definitely going to the New York show......unless it's unaffordable or sells out in 1 minute.

...though I had no problem getting Clapton/Winwood.

I'm sure my friend Chris will be getting us a couple of tickets. He worships Clapton.

There's 2 nights at Madison Square Garden - 2/18 & 19

Just got both through an AMEX pre-sale
Both upper level in Sec 421 (almost behind the stage)...but I wanted to pay the cheapest price.

I saw him do that in 1999 at The Tower in Philly and it was pretty cool. He's soooo much better than Clapton. But I saw Clapton's From The Cradle tour in Philly in 1995 with a girl I was dating who was obsessed with him and said I had to see that show. She was right-it was frickin' awesome and the best I've ever heard him play.
Still, it's Beck in a landslide.
I'd like to see the show but I will not have the proper $$$.

My pal Chris just called to say he got us tix for Feb. 19 at MSG. We'll be in Sec. 332 Row E, which, by astounding coincidence, is the same exact section and row we sat in for Clapton & Winwood! Paying ~$190 each for the show.

Interesting note - they just announced Clapton and Roger Daltrey in Pittsburgh Feb. 25. That may be worth checking out.

I was hoping they would come to the U.S. , I saw in the latest issue of MOJO that they were doing 2 shows in the UK called "Together And Apart" . This is gonna be a great show and I will go unless the ticket prices are too high.

Clapton always calls Buddy Guy the best guitarist in the world (and I agree with him) but Beck is definitely in that upper echelon of guitarists.

I'm sure it will be a DVD and CD again as was the Cream reunion & Winwood show. I brought them all.

Wonder if EC will do a few shows at MSG with Bobby Whitlock next and do the Layla LP in full.
