did you know of cee lo green before "fuck you", the 7-up commercial and the TV judging gig?
i am very interested to see the results of this, as i had a neat little confrontation about his "fame" at another website.

Yes. I remember him from The Goodie Mob. They had a lotta hype but I never got into them.

I first became aware of who he was when Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" hit the airwaves. I had heard of the Goodie Mob, but never listened to them and had no idea who the members were.

I loved Crazy, but it was the iconic pop culture costumes that they wore on stage that made me notice Gnarls Barkley.

I discovered him with Gnarls Barkley, as well. I liked "Run" from the second album better than "Crazy."

I'd heard of Goodie Mob, but I didn't know then that Ceee Lo was a member. I knew him for sure in Gnarls Barkley, between "Crazy" and their cover of Violent Femmes "Gone Daddy Gone".

"Fuck You" was fun, but after a couple of weeks I didn't know Cee Lo Green again. The Fauxtown productions and (whatever terms there might be for new Atlantic or Stax soundalikes) don't really interest me much. He's very famous, though.
