I listened to them when I was a kid, our neighbor's son had an LP by them. "Mama Loo" and "Mexico" were two of the big hits. I think they are from Germany. Chorus pop, cool Euro kitsch like James Last AKA "Hansi".
Here is "Mexico" from 1972, which quotes the old Johnny Horton hit, "The Battle of New Orleans", great stuff, how could a little kid not like this song?

"Mexico" is on one of those budget Hits of the 70s box sets from Disky that I like to collect. Must admit I'd never heard of the group, and was surprised that the song is a blatant rewrite of "Battle of New Orleans."
The song was not a hit in the US or the UK, but must've broke big on the Continent.

Absolutely not! But, I do know onetime, and very excellent Uriah Heep singer John Lawton was in this group and caught hell for it when fans found out!
