Should I get "Be Here now" and complete my run of Oasis? It was universally panned, Noel Gallagher has practically disowned it. I've never listened to it in full, I don't think, but what I have done is I've bought the four outstanding singles off that album, they make for four killer ep's with exclusive b-sides. So I've got the cream of that album, only I have to get out of bed every twenty minutes to change CD's that way. "Be Here now" is one long, continuous play.

Of course you should. Be Here Now might have been a little bombastic but it's still full of great songs.

Actually, I also need "Heathen Chemistry", the live album, and the latest one - but I was going to get those anyway. "Stop the Clocks" is compressed to hell and virtually unlistenable, IMO.

Heathen Chemistry is great. So many good songs and big hits on that one as well as hidden gems. I love that album. Be Here Now is torture to get through-nothing but bloated, overlong songs. As Linda said though, it has some great stuff aside from that. Everything has been reissued Googa at very cheap prices, so by all means complete the catalogue from this amazing band!

"Universally panned?" Not by me. It's my favorite Oasis album, by quite a wide margin. There's not a single song on it that I routinely skip over.
"I Hope, I Think, I Know" is my favorite Oasis song, period.
Liam has said that he doesn't understand Noel's dislike of it, saying that he (Liam) thinks its only fault is being too long.
I tend to think that Noel's feelings towards it are excessively colored by what was going on in his life at the time - the depths of his coke habit and his deteriorating relationship with Guigsy and Bonehead.
It's a fucking brilliant album.

Okay, I'm convinced. But I'm keeping the four singles, they are bloody good!

As you should. Oasis always do great B-sides.

A killer collection of Oasis B-sides is The Masterplan, but you all probably know that.

Ahh, I am with the Lovely Linda on Oasis. I have everything these guys did (including a slew of boots).
Go for it Goog, complete the collection!

Of course, The Masterplan is missing my 2 favorite Oasis B-sides, from the Don't Look Back In Anger single, their cover of Cum On Feel The Noize, and Step Out, which is pretty much their cover of Uptight by Stevie Wonder. It does contain the other song from that single, Underneath The Sky, which is also fantastic.

If you like Oasis, you should grab it. You can likely find it cheap as all hell as well.
