Myabe we'll stir up some interest from our wacky upstairs neighbors this week: the topic is comic book/comic strip characters. Since the options may be limited, feel free to include lyric quotes in addtion to titles. And if you include a well-known theme song, please choose a cover by a group or artist.
Superman--REM/Clique (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman--Kinks Sgt. Rock--XTC Snoopy vs. the Red Baron--Royal Guardsmen Dan Dare (Pilot of the Future)--Elton John Charlie Brown--Coasters Spiderman--Ramones Rip Her To Shreds--Blondie ("thinks she's Brenda Starr...")

Forgot all about Garfield. There's a various artists CD from 1991 called "Garfield: Am I Cool or What?" with 10 tracks that are all about the feline Macy's balloon: 1. Shake Your Paw - The Temptations 2. I Love It When I'm Naughty - Patti LaBelle 3. Fat Is Where It's At - Carl Anderson 4. Long 'Bout Midnight - Natalie Cole 5. Nine Lives - The Pointer Sisters 6. Here Comes Garfield - Lou Rawls 7. Next to You I'm Even Better - Diane Schuur 8. Spare Time - Valerie Pinkston 9. Up on a Fence - Desiree Goyette 10. Monday Morning Blues - B.B. King

BB King-Joe Cool Dave Grusin-Linus And Lucy The Coasters-Charlie Brown Spider-Man-Aerosmith (might've been just Joe Perry-I forget) Ziggy Stardust-David Bowie (in honor of "Ziggy" the comic) Kartoon Komments-Ape Cafe (my old band-on this song our singer made observations about various comic strips to our attempt at being avante-garde Zappa-esque with some sort of weird jazz/rock. I wrote it and I thought I made some valid points-i.e. why does Henry wear shorts in the middle of winter? We played it live twice-it went down quite poorly!)
band:Pearls Before Swine band:Poco (were known as Pogo before lawsuit was threatened by comic Pogo's creator)
