My girlfriend bought a yellow T-shirt at Target that proclaims, in faux-hippie font, "Summer Of Love". The tag inside the neck contains a fascimile of the original Woodstock logo. Apparently this is part of Target's big Woodstock promotion.
Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not a baby boomer, thank God) but wasn't the so-called "summer of love" the summer of 1967, not 1969? Or is this another case of people who were around in the 1960's not remembering the 1960's?

I was only nine at the time but from everything I've read it was '67.
Personally, "Summer of Love" makes me think of the B-52s song.

It was '67, the release of Sgt. Pepper and also the Monterey Pop Festival.

67 was the Summer of Love from a sloganeer standpoint, but by 67 the scene in SF was ugly. The real deal was 66 as far as the Bay Area is concerned.
