Does anyone know if either of the Artimus Pyle Band (APB) (the Skynyrd drummer not the punk band) lp's are available on cd ? I remember having 2 lp's years ago . I have been looking for them for quite some time . They are nowhere to be found . Not on ebay , Amazon , CD Universe . Any help is appreciated. Thanks , Don

I have the LP's but have never seen or heard about them being on CD. I check numerous sites on a regular basis and as I said have yet to see them. Sorry I couldn't bring any good news. He does have a solo CD (Artimus Venomus) released in 2007 available on CD.

Small world (duh) - a cousin of mine has been looking for those two lps on cd for a few years now, and i most recently checked for him a couple of days ago. As stated here, no cd issues have ever been done so far. I did find one listing for the "APB" lp, asking $25.00, and (here's the kicker), someone else selling a cassette of the same title for ....$49.95....
Also, the punk cds you refer to, i believe are by the same guy. At some point he veered from the southern rock mode into heavy metal type music, and Artimus Venomous is not the only release he's made in that genre (i believe).
The latest rumor is that Pyle is looking to form a 21st century "supergroup" with Gary Glitter, Billy Preston and a few other folks.

I suspect that the "other" APB is actually the Scottish post-punk group who were part of the bass-heavy dance/funk/rock movement in the early 80s. Their song "Something to Believe In" was an underground hit in the NYC area, thanks to airplay on WDRE. The CD of the same name (a collection of singles) was recently reissued as a 2-CD set. Getting back to Artimus Plye, I've never seen an CDs by him, although ya never know what was issued in Japan in the early days of CD.

Don, my highly classified source wouldn't reveal the other prospective members of this "supergroup", but by jove, i think you've nailed it!
And also, i must correct myself after doing further research, the "heavy metal" Artimus Pyle releases i had heard of and referred to do exist, but are recordings (2 releases) by a San Francisco metal band who have no affiliation with Artimus Pyle the ex-Skynyrd drummer. And apparently on Artimus Venomous, regardless of the title, he was still doing the Southern Rock thang, and according to the AMG review, very adeptly. Apologies offered for the misinformation.
