Interesting that quite a few of your choices of "1990's" singles are actually re-makes or re-releases of songs that originally charted in the 60's/70's/80's!

Good observation, I think the music industry is running out of good new tunes.

Actually, it probably has more to do with the relatively common UK practice of issuing (or re-issuing) a single when a song is featured in a television advertisement...

I bought an import of that one - not for the "a" side, but because it was the earliest issue of "Rush" by Big Audio Dynamite II. I think the CD also has the Clash's "Protex Blue" on it
