I have had my eye on one of those hollow body models with the Bigsby for a long time (Gretsch, not Gibson though...I'm not made of money lol). I have a semi-hollow Ibanez though already, which is pretty similar sound I guess, so I can't justify it to myself. I only have room to have one more guitar in my music space. I could sell the Ibanez and get something different (I have no acoustic standard guitar, only a resonator), then buy the Gretsch maybe. But selling guitars is a painful process.
I had a Chet Atkins model Gretsch 6120 that I sold a couple of years ago. I've found that I'm more of a Gibson man. The 335 is my favorite, but I love my Les Paul too. The acoustic surprised me. I have a Martin and a Taylor, but I think the Gibson is my favorite acoustic.

How do you sell your guitars? I sold one on eBay several years ago and the first "buyer" was a scam that if I weren't savvy I would have easily fallen for. The second time I listed it I sold it fairly rapidly... but it's such a pain dealing with things like that, and then shipping it, hoping nothing goes wrong there, and finally hoping that the ridiculously long period buyers have to decide to change their mind and return it doesn't put me back where I started.

In the past I used my local guitar shop, but they took a big cut. I'm thinking about selling a few now and, if I do, I'll use Reverb. I've bought a few on Reverb and it's a really nice process.

Beautiful guitars Bill. I have one guitar with a Bigbsy, it’s my PRS S2 Starla which was one of my first PRS’s after seeing it at the PRS Experience back in 2013. I’ve always wanted a Gibson 335 and one day will get one. I do have a Indio hollow body that mimics a 335 that is considered a good buy when they become available.

Reverb looks like the way to go, yeah. Thanks! I have about a million things I want to buy and a guitar is down the list a bit...but always on the list.

I have a problem when it comes to guitars. I'm up to close to 20 guitars and basses. I need to clear some space for the Koll that I want to buy.

I've got my trusty Squier Stratocaster and I actually love it more than anything else I've ever owned. It's the neck, the setup, the agathis body (thinner than a standard American or Mexican Strat body) - the whole thing. It just suits me better than anything else I've ever played. I've had several American and Japanese Strats over the years but none of them felt as much like 'mine' as this one does. It's absolutely nothing special in overall terms but it just suits me. I've never been happier with a guitar.

I for one have never sold a guitar, hence I also have way too many!
I am contemplating trading in a Fender American classic strat that I have for one of those new Fender Pro II’s known as the Dark Knight. That way it pays for the guitar and doesn’t add to my collection.
But I also really do need to eventually cull the collection.

The only way I’ve gotten rid of a guitar was (1) my first garbage grade one broke (neck snapped when I was careless and leaned it against a chair and it fell over) and (2) gave my older guitar (I think it was a Kramer) to my sister to make room for my Washburn. I actually still have the pieces of that first guitar in a box somewhere.
I’ve actually sold two - one was an Aria II Flying V that I wasn’t playing anymore (kinda wish I’d kept it), and a Les Paul Custom that I couldn’t bond with. The LP I actually traded in towards my Mesa/Boogie Mark IV.

I’ve always been intrigued by the Flying V, such a metal guitar and I understand it’s actually comfortable to play.

It was great standing up. At the time, I wasn't using a strap sitting down, so it was uncomfortable. Since then, I've changed my positioning a bit while sitting and playing, and I'm using a strap, so it would be much better now. My Rhoads V isn't bad when sitting - the main issue is there's so little body that it tends to flip away from me sometime because there's more gut than guitar. The V at least had the lower horn to help prevent that. I may have to make some inquiries to see if I can track one down. But an Explorer is on my list first.

I've taken a long-delayed step and created a shop in reverb to move some of my guitars. I just have too many. I'm completely out of wall space and have too many sitting in cases. And I've been buying like crazy--I just ordered a gorgeous 2007 Koll New Rose. It's a one-of-a-kind hollow body archtop.

Hahahaha!
Seriously, though, this is a blast. I love buying and selling guitars. I'm already looking for my next guitar. Will it be a Gibson BB King Lucille? A 1963 Gibson ES-125TDC (the year I was born)? Another Koll? I love this new hobby!
BTW, for some good guitar porn, check out Steve Earle's podcast Guitartown. On each episode he shows off and talks about one of his 6,000 or so guitars (I think that's how many he said he has). The last one I watched was for a Martin built in the 1840s.
