The Decemberists! I bought their last album and thought it was incredible. Also, I never even heard of Arcade Fire, so that made my vote a little bit easier.

I voted for same. I like Arcade Fire well enough, but I feel like they're getting magazine covers and acclaim while The Decemberists very quietly do a much better job of mining similiar territory. Pretty much every Decemberists record is outstanding.

I liked what I heard on the Decemberists last album, and almost bought it. Really interesting songwriting. I'm still trying to figure out what the big deal is with the Arcade Fire. They sound really self-conscious and kind of boring to me. Maybe I'm just too old.

It was a close call for me, but my vote went to the Decemberists. A friend turned me onto Arcade Fire's "Funeral" album, which I thought was amazing. I was disappointed with "Neon Bible," despite all the acclaim it received. I only have the Decemberists' "Crane Wife," but I've loved everything I heard from their. "Crane Wife" is just a gorgeous, beautiful album.

I heard the first song playing in a CD Warehouse and thought the rest of the album was so good I bought it on the spot. Oddly enough, I just listened to it out the blue yesterday and then saw this poll.

I quite like The Crane Wife, but it's the only Decemberists CD I've heard. On the other hand, the latest Arcade Fire CD is aces--I love the Springsteen sound-alikes.

I went with the Decemberists. I like Arcade Fire but The Crane Wife obsessed me for months when it came out.
