In honor of the upcoming Regeneration Tour, I want to compile a disc (or two) of Belinda Carlisle b-sides and stray tracks. There doesn't seem to be a definitive solo discography for BC anywhere on the Web, so am seeking help. Forgetting live versions of studio tracks that were used for b-sides, if anyone knows of anything I'm missing, please let me know. Thanks much for any info you can share.
Here's what I have to work with so far:
In My Wildest Dreams (Mannequin soundtrack)
Dancing in the City (Burglar soundtrack)
What Does It Take (Then Jerico ft. Belinda Carlisle)
Blue Period (with the Smithereens)
Only a Dream (b-side)
The Air You Breathe (b-side)
One By One (Crash Baptists ft. Belinda Carlisle/Harvest soundtrrack)
Change [8-track Demo] (b-side)
Don't Cry [8-track Demo] (b-side)
Too Much Water [8-track Demo] (b-side)
Watcha Doin' To Me [8-track Demo] (b-side)
Love Walks In (b-side)
The Ballad of Lucy Jordan (b-side)
I See No Ships (b-side)
Jealous Guy (b-side)
I Wouldn't Be Here If I Didn't Love You (Two If By Sea soundtrack)
I Won't Say I'm In Love (Hercules soundtrack)
The Scientist (Hit Me Baby One More Time)
I Still Love Him (Voila bonus disc)
La Vie en Rose (Voila bonus disc)
Bonnie and Clyde (Voila bonus disc)
If You Go Away (Voila bonus disc)
Christmas Lullaby (Mother & Child)

Belinda contributed a version of "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" to a mutli-artist Christmas comp, a budget affair titled Holiday Collection Vol. 2. It may have shown up on other Xmas comps too.

Thanks, Jimbo; I had no idea that track existed.

David,

Looks like you have it well covered, but I found another couple on my list:

Bless The Beasts And The Children – Belinda Carlisle (Tame Yourself – V.A.) [2/1/91]

Submission – Belinda Carlisle [w/Radiator] (Come Again (UK) / Essential Interpretations (US) – V.A.) [9/8/97 (UK) / 3/31/98 (US)]

Also, my copy of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is from Christmas Cooking [9/16/97]

Good luck with your collection!

Jay

P.S. I am assuming that you're intentionally leaving off the three new tracks from the 1999 UK greatest hits collection, Place On Earth: The Greatest Hits.

P.P.S. I would be very interested if you know of a clean source for "In My Wildest Dreams" from Mannequin.

Thanks for the reminder, Jay; I have both those compilations and had forgotten about her being on them. The late '80s and '90s were compilation/tribute/soundtrack pandemonium, weren't they? It's hard to remember what there is and where it is.

I hadn't planned on including the three new tracks from the 1999 UK hits collection, unless there was room or I had to go to two discs. It's clear that the latter will be the case, so I will probably put them on there for the heck of it.

My current "In My Wildest Dreams" from a VHS of "Mannequin," so quality is not great; but I hope to improve on it somewhat wiith the new Mannequin/Mannequin2 DVD that is sceduled for release this coming week. Sometimes we just have to take what we can get...

David,

Agreed on Mannequin. Just wish I could get rid of those awful sound effects!

I am not familiar with "The Scientist" from Hit Me Baby One More Time. Can you tell me more about that track?

Jay

"The Scientist" is her cover version of the Coldplay song. She sang it on the UK TV series Hit Me Baby One More Time.

Great idea for the cover, Renny! (Although it might require some strategic placement of type.)

And, unfortunately, no CD version of "The Scientist." They really should have issued a compilation CD from "Hit Me Baby One More Time," both UK and US versions. There were some really nice performances, like the Motels' "Don't Know Why" (US) and Howard Jones' "White Flag" (UK). The most unforgettable had to be Wang Chung's take on Nelly's "Hot in Herre." It's great (and it's posted on their MySpace page):
