Another one:
"Everyone's Gone To The Movies"-is that about a town pervert? What is that line about "Sorry, we only have 8" all about?

8mm pornography, as opposed to 16mm

I never understood that before, either. Aren't those guys something else? I repeat, "Sinister Until Proven Otherwise"!

It doesn't really make sense with the line "I know you're used to 50 or more" though.

that's because, it's "I know you're used to sixteen or more...sorry, we only have eight."

On XM today, I heard "Turn That Heartbeat Over Again" as I was pulling into work. At lunchtime, I turned on my car radio and "Show Biz Kids" was playing. On the way home, I heard "Pretzel Logic."

A perfect day...musically speaking.

Rickie Lee Jones does a great version of Show Biz Kids, by the way. Not better than the Dan's, but really good.

RLJ seems to have a fun relationship with Steely Dan. I'm trying to remember the context where I heard them joking about her, something about a RLJ hula doll on the dashboard.

My Business just got in a cd where Jazz Pianist Marian McPartland interviews & jams with Becker & Fagen on her NPR radio show on SD tunes. I'm debating whether to open & play one.....

I'd love to hear that! She always makes her guests play songs with her, too.

To Geff and Pip: This is the Piano Jazz CD I was referring to earlier in this thread. It is definitely worth a listen both for the music and the interview.
