"The Fever" -- Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes
Springsteen's original version was not released officially until the "18 Tracks" compilation in 1999, but that really doesn't matter because Southside owns this song, and he always will. Turn down the lights, and turn up the volume

I dig the original, far more, but I can groove with The Kooks take of Pumped Up Kicks. Plus I think its, somewhat, unique for a band to cover a contemporary artist

Seattle had a punk/new wave band originally called The Heaters. They changed to The Heats, because of another band with a nationally distributed record called The Heaters.
