We did this one a while back, but I thought it'd be fun to reprise now that we have a whole bunch of new players: manned flight. NITPICKY RULE: no UFOs, they had their own list already. But rockets are OK. :supesmiley:

Who's Driving Your Plane?--Rolling Stones
Flight 505--Rolling Stones
Jet Airliner--Steve Miller
Leaving on a Jet Plane--John Denver/Peter, Paul & Mary
Planes--Jefferson Airplane (bonus points!)
Supersonic Rocket Ship--Kinks
Up, Up and Away (in my beautiful balloon)--5th Dimension

Since my choices are already posted here, i'd like only to remark, for any who may not be aware, that 10cc's songs "Clockwork Creep" (from 2nd LP "Sheet Music") and "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" (from 4th LP "How Dare You?") are interconnected, Mandy being the sequel to Creep. Not technically a sequel since the time-line overlaps. "Clockwork Creep" is in the first person from the perspective of a bomb that's been planted on an airplane (and features conversation between the bomb and the plane). "I'm Mandy, Fly Me", opens with a chorus from "Clockwork Creep" playing under the synth'd sound of aircraft in flight, inferring that the flight which is the subject of this song in one in the same with the "Clockwork Creep" flight. It tells the story of a man on that flight, and the unusual way in which he is saved from the explosion (don't want to spoil the specifics in case anyone ends up checking these songs out firsthand).

Just think vintage 10cc at their musical and lyrical best, which is saying a lot. And thanks to the folks who thought to post these classics. And further, one of the chorus lines from "Clockwork Creep" is "Oh, no you'll never get me up in one of these again", pretty close to the thread title verbatim.
