Boogie at Midnight - Skip Castro Band (a band that used to be popular in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas)

I remember seeing them in Blacksburg, back in the day. They always drew a big and enthusiastic crowd. Did you ever get to see The Robbin Thompson Band, who traveled in some of the same circles? Robbin, for those who don't recognize the name, was lead singer for the band Steel Mill (some young kid named Springsteen played the guitar for them), and his self-titled debut album featured guest spots by Timothy B. Schmit, Steve Cropper, Melissa Manchester, Jai Winding, Trevor Veitch, David Wolfert, Al Garth, Rick Roberts (of Firefall), and Waddie Wachtel, among others.

"Midnite Man" by Robbin Thompson
"Happy New Year" by Luna

Yes, I saw them several times in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. I remember they had a local hit with "Candy Apple Red". When I say local, I mean in parts of Virginia. I don't really know how big a following they had in neighboring states. A Charlottesville station, WWWV - aka 3WV, used to play that song and "Sweet Virginia Breeze". There were probably a few others they played as well. Skip Castro's "Boogie At Midnight" also got a lot of airplay.

I remember seeing bumper stickers with "Boogie At Midnight" all over the place (in Virginia). Now that I think about it, it was also common to see Robbin Thompson bumper stickers.
