Now there's a reunion I really wish would happen. A new Wings album and tour. Not that Macca would necessarily be interested in a Wings reunion anyway, but I wonder if he'd consider it absolutely impossible without Linda.

Back in the '70s in Santa Clara, I got to meet 2 of Denny Laine's children. They were sent away to stay with relatives in the U.S. because the pot smoking that was going on among the band was supposedly of incredible proportions and that the concerned relatives didn't want them exposed to it.

maybe denny laine could at least write a few lyrics for mccartney.

Denny's never been much of a writer, in my opinion, but his harmonies behind Paul during the WIngs days were a thing of beauty. The Wings name will almost certainly not be used without Linda, but that doesn't mean the two can't collaborate on some new material.

I hope, I hope.

This is not meant to be snarky: what was Denny's role in Wings? Was he more than the longest lasting of Paul's sidemen? Did he really have a creative part in the group or did he just do what Paul told him? Is any of this documented somewhere I can check out?

I remember an interview with Paul many years ago where they asked him about Denny's complaints that he was cheated out of the proceeds from Wings and Paul offered to take the interviewer into the next room and show him $1 million in check stubs he'd paid Denny. Sure made it sound like he was just a hired hand. Of course he may have just been feeling defensive at the time. I know Denny participated in the Band on the Run anniversary CD, so maybe those fences were mended long ago.
