OK so I'm setting up our new family room with a pool table, air hockey, rod hockey etc. I got a new Crosley Jukebox too! Sadly, an actual Jukebox that plays records (or even CDs) costs upwards of $6000, so I found this one (pretty good and powerful Jukebox quality sound) that is 4 ft tall, has really cool lights and has an iPod input (also plays one CD at a time and AM/FM).

Since I got it for $450 with my daughter's Target employee discount, I couldn't resist. I can deal with iPod quality sound if it's coming from a Jukebox in a noisy game room!

My personal thoughts on Jukebox songs are that they should be single versions (if possible), nothing too long (As much as I love "Starship Trooper" for instance), and mostly upbeat tracks (I love "Yesterday", but don't really want to hear it on the Jukebox).

Anyway, what song(s) do YOU think just HAVE TO be on a Jukebox?

Please list as many as you like. I WILL pay close attention.

Yo DanO:

A game room with a jukebox?!?! I have GOT to get out there and visit now!

You know me: after loading in all 25 volumes of Rhino's Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits, their Punk Rock Box, and tons of Stones and ABBA, there'd be precious little room left for anything else! :yay:

Well, maybe throw in:

Jukebox Music--Kinks
Don't Rock the Jukebox--Alan Jackson
Jukebox (Don't Put Another Dime In...)--Flirts
Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox--Joe Diffie
Please Mr. Please--Olivia Newton-John
I Love Rock & Roll--Joan Jett
Down South Jukin'--Lynyrd Skynyrd

You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC. Anything else is just detail.

Probably a bunch of stuff by the Stones - I'd go with all of Hot Rocks Vols 1 & 2, plus Rewind.

I'd probably add all 3 boxes (12 CDs) of the Nuggets series.

Lots of Phil Spector Girl Groups. The 3-CD best of Motown set I got at Costco for $12. The Endless Summer comp by the Beach Boys. The bar fight songs by Jim Croce.

Elton John's GH v.1

Yep, I agree with all! I've also been raiding the "Loud, Fast & Out Of Control" 50's Box for some great ones. It's become evident that, to me, the Rolling Stones are the greatest Juke Box band ever. I've already put LOADS of Stones on!

Keep em coming, please!

If ANY INXS goes on, you have to do The One Thing.

Chronicle I & II by CCR.

What a great problem to have!

Some rocking instrumentals are also a good choice when lyrics might interfere with hitting that perfect cue shot. Rhino put out some great collections of rock and soul instrumentals in the 90's. (sorry, I'm at the office so I don't have the exact titles) Those would be a good place to start if they are still in print.

Therefore, the jukebox MUST have Green Onions.

Ooooh, here's a perfect one for you:

"Danny's All-Star Joint"--Rickie Lee Jones. Provided, of course, that your jukebox goes "doit, doit"!! :D

Hey DanO...I'm just sure that those billiard balls on your pool table will be screaming "hit me baby one more time" in no time. Hence, given your love of all things Britney, you may have to include "Baby One More Time".
