Just picked up the U2 Joshua Tree Deluxe Edition today with the Paris DVD from Best Buy. Great looking package and am excited to watch the DVD. I noticed, however, that the inside of the box, which holds the 3 separate cardboard jackets is torn at the bottom. I remember the Jethro Tull 25th Anniversary "Cigar" Box had this problem as well.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the U2 box or do I need to exchange it? If it's a common issue with a lot of the boxes, then I won't waste my time bringing it back. However, if I seem to have a true defect, please let me know and I'll go back to Best Buy tomorrow. Thanks.

Dave

Yours may be just an isolated case. The loose part of the box which holds the three disc sleeves in place is not the sturdiest in the world. That aside, I very much enjoyed the the experiences contained within.

Thanks for the reply Steve. Was your copy torn as well?

My box was torn as well...which is too bad, because otherwise, this is a very nice package. :sigh:

My box was torn. If I had to guess, the machinery (or person) that loaded the CDs into the bottom of the box tore the cardboard frame. Otherwise, the packaging for this release is very nice. In contrast, the packaging used for the reissue DVD of Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains the Same" was flimsy and cheap looking.
