The last 2-3 months have been great for classic rock fans. It's been awhile since new collections have been put out by old favorites in a relatively short time. I'm including John Fogerty, Ray Davies, Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles. It'll probably be a long time before something equivalent comes along.

Speaking of new collections by old favorites--remember last year, when Rolling Stone reported that "the long awaited Guns N’ Roses album, 'Chinese Democracy', has gotten a firm release date of November 21st [2006]..."?

Dude, SMILE came out before Chinese Democracy. Give it another 30 years.

I'm also stoked to see Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton in February!
Its old folks time all the time around these parts.

We need something to get us through the time while American Idol comes back.

I must say I really enjoyed the new John Fogerty. I don't listen to enough new releases to call it "album of the year", but I doubt anything better among new albums has been released this year. As for the new Ray Davies (and the one before for that matter), I can't really justify getting them, when I don't own all the later Kinks albums on RCA and Arista. I wonder how the Ray Davies solo albums stack up against the later ones by Kinks.
