I just can't see Steve Perry surviving a tour at this point.
john,
he could do it, but it would have to be how CSN does it for crosby. a couple or 3 shows a week, with lots of down time. cities close together so the travel is easy too.

I just can't see Steve Perry surviving a tour at this point.
I don't think he could either and he might taint his legacy if he doesn't sing as fans would hope.
It would be great and maybe it will happen.
As for Journey now they are as good as they can be without Perry, but IF he came back and IF he can still sing and IF he isn't an egomaniac then I would be all for it.

Journey guitarist Neal Schon has dismissed rumours that vocalist Arnel Pineda wants to leave. Pineda in turn has committed his future to the band.
A report concerning apparent unrest in the Journey camp appeared briefly on the Classic Rock website last Friday morning (February 7). Our story quoted MelodicRock.com founder Andrew McNeice as saying Pineda was unsettled in his role of Journey frontman and planned to quit in 2015 to spend more time with his family.
McNeice moved swiftly to contact us and point out that the comments about Pineda being unhappy “came from a third-party post on my Facebook account which was removed personally by me after alerting Journey management”.
The Classic Rock story, which had been live for approximately 30 minutes, was also removed. But that was time enough for music news website Blabbermouth to pick up on the report and publicise it further.
Schon issued the following statement: “Rumours couldn’t be further from the truth. Arnel and I are solid… VERY SOLID. We are very much looking forward to getting out there this year and kicking some ass.
“We will be in rehearsal for three weeks prior to the tour and we will be revamping things to keep it fresh. I’m also heading to rehearsal with the original Santana band for a record to be recorded later this year titled Santana 4.
“Journey is solid as we are and planning on touring all through 2015 as well as 2014.”
Pineda added: “I am as happy to be in Journey today as I was when I first joined the group. Next to my family in Manila [Philippines], Journey is my family.
“When I’m not working, I spend time at home with my wife and kids, and my Foundation. Now I am busy preparing for our tour with the Steve Miller Band and Tower Of Power.
“I wish whoever is making up these lies would put their time to good use and stop spreading these false stories.”
Classic Rock apologises to Andrew McNeice for any confusion caused.

Interested to find out more about this upcoming "Santana 4" project. I wonder which members of the original Santana band are involved.
Per Wikipedia:
Current members Carlos Santana – vocals, guitars (1966–present) Gregg Rolie – vocals, keyboards (1966–1972, 2014-present) Neal Schon – guitars (1971–1972, 2014-present) Michael Shrieve – drums (1969–1974, 1988, 2014–present) Michael Carabello – percussion (1966-1967, 1969–1971, 2014-present) Marcus Malone – percussion (1966–1969, 2014-Present) Benny Rietveld – bass (1990–1992, 1997–present)
"Classic era" bassist David Brown died in 2000.
Marcus Malone, by the way, was homeless until a couple of months ago, when an Oakland news crew reunited him with Carlos, who immediately invited him to join the reunion.

Thanks for the update, Hank. I realize this is a Journey thread, but since the Santana reunion involves Neal Schon we're allowed to digress. Glad to see that Shrieve is involved. It wouldn't be the same without him.
(hennemusic) Journey has become the latest classic rock act to announce a Las Vegas residency. "Journey Las Vegas" will see the band will perform 9 shows at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino between April 29 and May 16.
"We are looking forward to bringing it to you in Las Vegas during our residency at The Joint," said Journey guitarist Neal Schon of the residency. "See you soon!"
Journey are following in the footsteps of several other rockers who paved the way with successful extended Vegas runs, including Carlos Santana, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Rod Stewart and Meat Loaf, among others.

nothing anyone will say or do will convince me otherwise....it is not journey. and neal schon and Jonathon cain have big balls for fraudulently billing it as journey.
it is the schon/cain band playing tribute to a band called journey....and nothing more.
no steve pery....no journey....unless of course they only play songs that steve perry didn't sing on or have a hand in writing.....but then no one would come and see them play.

Fire his ass now. They should've done that after the first incident. Disgusting.
From hennemusic.com:
Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was reportedly arrested for alleged assault and other charges on Sunday morning in Salem, Oregon, according to the gossip site TMZ. The site reports that the Salem Police Department told them that officers were called to a home believed to be the drummer's around 9A.M. on Sunday and he was arrested without incident.
They also report that Castronovo was released on bail after he was booked and charged with assault, coercion, and menacing. There is no word who else was involved in the incident.
In 2012, Castronovo was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and anger-management classes following an arrest in Salem where he was charged with fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, interfering with a police report and coercion, according to the local Fox affiliate.
TMZ reports that the 2012 arrest was for the alleged assault of his girlfriend.

its become the schon/cain band now, and it depends on the effect this has on that entity as to whether castronova faces consequences.

Music and the band should not matter when it comes to acts of violence like this.
And, he is a repeat offender.

If they fired Deen and brought back Steve Smith (or Aynsley Dunbar, or, brain exploding, Prairie Prince) would that make it legitimately Journey in your eyes? Or did Journey die when Gregg Rolie left?

I think they died when he joined.
