Really enjoyed AXS-TV's presentation Sunday night of the Crue's farewell concert taped at the Staples Center in LA called Motley Crue- The End. A must see for Crue fans. I could watch Mick Mars all day play his strat. Great great riffs.

That's got to be a future home video release.
I hope so, I checked Amazon to see but it's not up yet.

I recorded it but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I figure the biggest downside will be Vince Neil, but what the heck. AXS has been hitting it out of the park - unfortunately, it's been iffy as to whether the shows reach home video or not. One Slash show did, one was released overseas. Pat Benatar's was.

Band on tour with Motley Crue claim crew blasted urine at them
Touring with hair-metal band Mötley Crüe left this pair of Big Apple rockers feeling rather pissy, they claim in a new lawsuit.
Logan and Roger Raskin, of the Manhattan group The Raskins, claim their “once in a lifetime” chance to open for the Crüe during a 2014 tour was sabotaged by months of hazing — including getting blasted with urine on stage.
At a stop in Darien, Conn., crew members ran out on stage in monkey masks and sprayed the Raskins “with water guns filled with urine,” the brothers claim in their $30 million Manhattan Supreme Court suit.
The Raskins also claim they were forced to play short sets in mostly empty venues after managers often refused to open the doors for shows; the public address system was turned off or interfered with during their shows; they weren’t allowed to sell merchandise or give them dressing rooms; and they were hit with heavy equipment.
The Raskins paid $1 million to join the tour and had a contract negotiated by Artist Group International, but it wasn’t honored, the rockers claim in a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit which names Tenth Street Entertainment, AGI and other production companies.
Tenth Street, Artist Group International and the other defendants did not return messages.

I never heard of The Raskins but saw they paid 1 million to join the tour so I had to do some research into it.
No Wikipedia page that I could find. Maybe I'm not wise to the ways of new artists getting their name out there but I'd probably look at setting up a Wikipedia page before blowing 1 million dollars to be an opener on a tour.
They have a real nice looking website but when I go to the "music" page it just has a player where the visitor can listen to about a dozen different songs. No mention of any album releases.
Checked the AllMusic and discogs page and it looks like they have 1 album that was released in 2014. The label it was released on is Miral records which hasn't put out anything else.
Back to the band's webpage, and there is a note in the profile section that indicates there is some relationship with Sony although it doesn't appear that it's related to the album released on Miral. But there is also a note saying they completed the material for their debut album that will be released on May 18th, I'm assuming that's the album on Miral and it's referring to May 18, 2014 but info is so incomplete I can't tell for sure. So either these guys have really rich parents or Sony fronted them 1 million dollars to open for Motley Crue.
So now it's time to listen to some of their music and frankly they don't seem like a really good fit for Motley Crue. Keep in mind that most of my metal listening these days is to death metal...so as far as I'm concerned Motley Crue is a pretty "sugary" band. But The Raskins seem to be way too "sugary" and "poppy" to even be on a Motley Crue tour. Hell, their music might even be to "sugary" and "poppy" to be on a Def Leppard tour. I just don't get how shelling out 1 million dollars to open for Motley Crue would be a good investment for this band.
If Sony gave them all that money it's probably one of the many reasons why the industry is floundering like it is (that is not in any way to excuse thieves from stealing music). But Nikki Sixx is probably pretty happy because I don't think Motley Crue has any label affiliation at this time so that 1 million probably went directly into the Motley Crue corporation.
If there are any Raskins fans out there feel free to educate me about them.
After watching The Dirt I am a mild fan of these guys.

Which begs the question, what kind of fan were you before watching The Dirt? Have they gone up or down in your estimation?
Gone up. Though I have gone through phases when I thought they were OK and I always believed the Crue were the top band from the glam metal period. The main reason I liked the lot was they were larger than life personalities crammed into one band. Hearing the stories of their antics was shocking and to over the top to be real. For a while I was in an indifference stage but now I'm listening to more of their music and reading about the band's history.
My all time favorite MC song has always been Looks That Kill because the videos is pure 80's cheese, in a good way. Even though the main riff was, lets say "borrowed" from Dokken's song Young Girls. Its still their best song.

I'm a passive Crue fan. I started with Shout and think that's their best album, followed by Feelgood. The two in between those two albums are dreck with a couple really good songs.
First two albums were great, next two albums were crap, next two albums were great, next album was crap, album #8 I've never heard all the way through and the last album was sort of an "above average to good" type of release.
I also think that 20 years down the line this band will rival The Who and The Doors for most "throw-away" compilation, rarities and live releases on the market. They are already off to a great start. Nine proper studio albums. Five "high-profile" greatest hits albums. One rarities collection. Three live albums. The Dirt soundtrack (could easily just call this another compilation album). Two box sets.
LOL, stadium tour of Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Poison scheduled to hit the road in 2020. So much for that farewell tour. Another great opportunity for a new compilation and another live album.

That can't be right - they said they would never tour again, ever. They even said they had contracts - contracts! Those can't be broken!!!!
Rumors of a fourth band on the bill as well.
I really don't see how this has the juice to do stadiums.

Motley Crue's contract says the band can't go out without all 4 original members, and they were positive it would never happen again; either they, or the bank, has changed someone's mind.
I could see a reformed Ratt (Stephen Pearcy / Juan Crocier version) being the 4th band on that bill; I just saw they did some LA TV gigs a couple months back.
And Don't underestimate Def Leppard's drawing power; they played the Dome the last time they were through, and that was with Journey. If ticket prices aren't too outlandish, it could work.

If it reaches our Jones Beach Theater, I’d go. It’s sort of a stadium.

Those Journey/Def Leppard stadium shows did well from what I remember and I don't know if I see this bill being that much different than the other one in potential drawing power. Some now golden-oldies from the 70s who like Journey will have no use for this but I'd bet those losses will be off-set by people in their late 40's who were listening to the Def Leppard/Motley Crue/Poison trio in high school. These bands were at their height in my record store working days and I sold a boatload of records/cassettes/CDs of all of these artist. Def Leppard has two albums that sold over 10 million copies, Motley Crue has four different albums that sold over 4 million copies and Poison has three different albums that sold over 3 million copies. These were big bands.
I also wonder, with ticket prices as they are, if it's perfectly feasible to play stadiums at 70% capacity and still make a financial killing? If the managers do the market research and determine that they can sell 35,000 tickets, does it become more cost effective to play one show at a 50,000 capacity stadium and sell 70% of the tickets or play 2 shows at a 20,000 capacity and sell 87.5% of the tickets for those two shows? I don't have any information regarding this, but with ticket prices as they are these days I'd be willing to bet that stadium tours don't need to be anywhere near 100% capacity for the artists involved to make a big wad of cash. If anyone knows of any article online that would dispute or back-up this theory, please post a link as I'd be interested to read it.
